Guilty Gear Strive has released update 1.46, and it adds Unika as the new DLC character. The girl of mysterious origin made her first appearance in the Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers anime, and players can unlock her by purchasing the individual DLC or a pass with all Season 4 characters, stages, and additional colors. Unika's strong point is her ability to force opponents to make a mistake with heavy pressure sequences, as well as having the unique trait called Arbalest, which allows her to improve her special moves. In addition to Unika, the update added her musical theme “Carp Diem,” themed avatar and gallery items, and items related to GG World, a mode that tells more of the story of the Guilty Gear Strive fighters.

Another new feature included in Guilty Gear Strive update 1.46 is the Frame Data Display option. Available in Training, Combo Search, Combo Create, and Sparring modes, this change is particularly huge, as it shows detailed information about the timing and effectiveness of each character's abilities in frames. With this information, players can better master each character's skills and improve their performance in fighting games. Additionally, the patch includes a variety of general fixes, and adjustments for Nagoriyuki, A.B.A., Slayer, and Dizzy.

Now that Unika has been added to the Guilty Gear Strive roster, players wait for Lucy, the next Season 4 character. This is one of the season's most anticipated additions, as Lucy marks the unexpected crossover between the Arc System Works game and the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime. After that, the game will prepare for Season 5, and although not much is known about it at the moment, a previous Guilty Gear Strive leak has teased what players can expect from it.

  • Battle-Related
    • Updated the battle version from Ver.4.04 to Ver.4.05.
      • This update only includes minor adjustments intended to improve the control feel for universal mechanics and fixes for issues. See below for details.
  • Adjustments:
  • 【All Throw Moves】
    • When Roman Cancel is input directly before the last hit of a throw hits, a Red Roman Cancel now activates after the final hit.
    • This makes it less likely for a Purple Roman Cancel to activate when the Roman Cancel is unintentionally input before the final hit connects.
  • 【All Air Throw Moves】
    • For characters who move backwards after the final hit of their throw hits, they no longer move backwards if the action is interrupted.
    • This makes it easier to follow up after performing a Roman Cancel.
  • Issue Fixes:
  • Universal Mechanics:
    • Fixed an issue causing disparity in the timing when the slow-down effect was applied when canceling a normal or special move with Red, Purple, or Blue Roman Cancel if not performed at the soonest possible timing.
    • Fixed an issue making it possible to use Psych Burst during the Wall Break sequence when activated under certain conditions.
  • Nagoriyuki:
    • Fixed an issue sometimes causing Nagoriyuki to move during the superflash when Blood Rage ends under certain conditions.
  • A.B.A:
    • Fixed an issue sometimes causing A.B.A to move during the superflash when Jealous Rage ends under certain conditions.
  • Slayer:
    • Fixed an issue sometimes causing momentum to apply to a special move even when the startup of his dash was not canceled into a jump.
  • Dizzy:
    • Fixed an error making it possible for the opponent to tech when landing an un-techable knockdown if the opponent lands at the same time Ice Field disappears. As a result of this fix, the active time of Ice Field has been extended by 1 frame.
