ArenaNet recently announced “Absolution,” the third and final content update for Guild Wars 2: Janthir Wilds. Fans will delve into the twisted heart of Bava Nisos, the ruined capital of the Mursaat, as they search for the Mists gate the Titans used to enter Tyria and wreak havoc, hoping to close it once and for all.
20 Years Ago, Guild Wars Made a Promise That it Still Hasn't Broken Today
After 20 years of ongoing service, the original Guild Wars still makes good on a promise it made that no other MMORPG has been able to truly mimic.
To celebrate the new update, Guild Wars 2 is beginning a Twitch Drop campaign featuring some incredible rewards. Players who watch six hours of any Guild Wars 2 streamers on Twitch between June 3 and June 8 can earn the Tradesman’s Package – a bundle that includes a Merchant, Trading Post, and Bank Access Express consumable – along with the Bloodstone Ascender Travel Toy, Mini Bloodstone Rock, and the Bloodstone Glider. Fans can collect and use these rewards even if they don’t own the Janthir Wilds expansion for Guild Wars 2.
How to Get Guild Wars 2 ‘Absolution’ Twitch Drops
- Connect one’s Twitch and Guild Wars 2 accounts
-
Watch any Twitch streamers in the Guild Wars 2 category from June 3 at 9 AM PT through June 8 at 11:59 PM PT to earn the following cosmetics and in-game items:
- 1 hour: Tradesman’s Package
- 2 hours: Bloodstone Ascender
- 4 hours: Mini Bloodstone Rock
- 6 hours: Bloodstone Glider
- Once complete, claim the rewards from the Twitch Drops inventory.
- Items will be sent via in-game mail upon the next login.
The Bloodstone Glider, Mini Bloodstone Rock, and Bloodstone Ascender were originally added to the Gem Store in October 2016, November 2016, and February 2017 respectively, after which they periodically returned to the shop over the years. Combined with the Tradesman’s Package, these items would cost 1200 Gems to buy – a %15 cash value. Considering the connection between the Mursaat and Bloodstone, equipping one’s character with these free Guild Wars 2 cosmetics is the perfect way to get into the spirit of “Absolution” and explore the ruins of Bava Nisos in style.
The announcement blog for “Absolution” also teased an impending reveal for its next expansion. Though ArenaNet delayed the next Guild Wars 2 expansion by a couple of months, players can expect the official debut of its next major release to take place in July.
