Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is approaching quickly, and with that comes spoilers. However, director James Gunn believes they will not diminish fans' enjoyment of the film.

Following Thor: Love and Thunder and the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 sees Peter Quill still reeling from the loss of Gamora. As he and his team adjust to life on Knowhere, a new threat emerges, forcing the Guardians to embark on another mission to defend the universe and one of their own.

Gunn, who replied to a Twitter user, said fans should be careful about what they read on social media towards the end of April. However, he believes spoilers won't take away much of the enjoyment of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Fans should know by now that with the release of an MCU project comes potential spoilers. And while Gunn's comments may be true, this being the third and final entry in the Guardians trilogy, it's probably best to avoid any spoilers. In addition, Gunn confirmed that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3's runtime makes it the longest out of the three films, so there will be a lot more in store that fans may not want to know about ahead of the film's release.

And while it may be too difficult to avoid any spoilers, Gunn believes Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 avoided the trilogy curse, something very few trilogies have overcome. "The amount of good third episodes in a trilogy, I can count them on one hand," Gunn said in a recent interview. Gunn added that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is where fans learn the truth about who these characters are as they face their biggest stakes.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Will Poulter as Adam Warlock, Chukwudi Iwuji as High Evolutionary, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Vin Diesel as Groot, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Elizabeth Debicki as Ayesha, Sean Gunn as Kraglin Obfonteri, Sylvester Stallone as Stakar Ogord, and Maria Bakalova as Cosmo the Spacedog.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 arrives in theatres on May 5, 2023.
