At this point, fans see the disaster that was the launch of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition in one of two ways, either a hilarious portrayal of a botched job that's meme worthy, or a sad indictment of the state of the industry. In any case, one thing that's certain is that the remaster will almost certainly go down as one of the most disappointing games of 2021. Alongside this, Rockstar Games is frantically putting out numerous updates to fix some of the many, many problems, yet players are still experiencing some pretty serious bugs.

One theory in the comments suggests that one of the major glitches in GTA: Vice City is causing the game to confuse the mission with something water-based. Essentially, it's been speculated that it's treating the car, and the player, as being underwater, with the rapid reduction in health being similar to what happens when protagonist Tommy is drowning. This is just a theory, however, and in general, it just seems baffling that Jorin0L, and maybe other players, would be experiencing such a game-breaking bug which renders this mission dead in the water.

A couple of official updates have been rolling out for the GTA Trilogy, which addresses some of the bigger issues that have been plaguing the remaster since it was released on November 11. However, the above example is probably one of many that are still making the games difficult for fans to enjoy. It has caused untold disappointment among the community, with the reputation of Rockstar Games, and the developers of the remaster, Grove Street, diminishing somewhat.

Even with the classic Grand Theft Auto games making a comeback, it's still not enough to undo much of the damage that's been done, especially as the originals are only available on PC, and only for those who have, or plan on purchasing, the Definitive Edition. It's going to take both the developer and publisher a long time to crawl their way out of the mess that the remaster has left in its wake.
