GTA games have always been pretty generous when it comes to cramming in content. Even by the series' own lofty standards, however, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is an incredibly impressive title in terms of just how many things there are for players to see and do. This is all great for casual players looking to kill a bit of time, but for completionists, it can actually be a bit of a nightmare due to the near-endless list of tasks required to achieve 100% completion.
Those hoping to accomplish this impressive feat can expect to spend well over 60 hours doing so, making San Andreas by far the longest of the original 3D trilogy. Amazingly, there's actually a fair amount of content that doesn't count towards 100% completion and the "Remastered" trophy/achievement, so those still eager to explore the game's world even after unlocking it can continue to do so with a sense of purpose.
Story Missions
With no fewer than 100 of them to play through, San Andreas features more main story missions than any other Grand Theft Auto game. Its seemingly neverending narrative is broken up into six main acts, with all but the first and last of these taking place in their own distinct part of the county. Players can expect to spend around 30 hours completing all of them, making the game's main story about as long as the ones found in GTA 3 and Vice City combined.

Asset Missions
Much like in Vice City before it, San Andreas allows players to purchase various properties and businesses around the county, some of which have special missions attached to them. A handful of these — like the ones connected to Zero RC and the airstrip in Verdant Meadows — will be tackled as part of the main story, but the rest will only become available if players go out of their way to unlock them.

Side Missions
As is something of a tradition for GTA games, San Andreas does not skimp on the side missions. These include returning classics like vehicle missions as well as the newly implemented driving schools, two of which are visited as part of the main story. Vehicle missions once again offer the best rewards though, with players able to increase their maximum health and armor capacity, become fireproof and even get free train rides from any station across the county by completing them.

Races
Many of the GTA games feature racing, but few can come close to matching San Andreas when it comes to the sheer number of races that are on offer. The game boasts 22 of them in total, with the majority of them split up into three special tournaments. There's also a series of standalone checkpoint races at Las Venturas Airport, all of which players will need to emerge victorious from to achieve 100% completion.

Collectibles
Though there are no more hidden packages or rampages for players to worry about, there are still plenty of collectibles in GTA: San Andreas. CJ will need to spray over 100 Gang Tags and also take 50 Snapshots in specially marked spots across the county. There are 50 Horseshoes and 50 Oysters for players to find and collect as well, with the latter only found underwater. Tracking down everything will lead to various weapons spawning outside certain safe houses and also increase CJ's lung capacity to the maximum amount.
Miscellaneous
As well as all of the missions, races, and collectibles, there are a few additional tasks that players will need to tick off in order to achieve 100% completion in San Andreas. In terms of assets, they'll need to purchase all 24 properties and each of the 5 Hotel Suites in Las Venturas. They'll also have to complete all three of the import/export vehicle lists in San Fierro and finish all three rounds for every weapon at one of the Ammu-Nation firing ranges. Finally, CJ will need to learn the Boxing, Kung Fu, and Muay Thai fighting styles from the game's three gyms and reach 35% girlfriend progress with Millie Perkins.
Rewards
Much like Vice City before it, San Andreas offers up some pretty decent rewards for those who manage to reach 100% completion. They're a little less useless this time around though, and can be pretty useful for those who are keen to take over every gang territory or cross off all 70 Unique Stunt Jumps. Neither of these is required for 100% completion, however, nor is maxing out money or achieving the "King of San Andreas" Criminal Rating.
