Grand Theft Auto Online has received countless updates and crossed multiple console generations during its long lifespan. The most recent version available on PS5 & Xbox Series X finally brought wildlife into the multiplayer version of Los Santos. This means there are now friendly and hostile animals roaming the city streets and the desert shrubbery.
The Chop Shop update added a daily challenge that players can participate in for in-game cash rewards. Simply taking a picture of some of these animals will get you $40,000 and a few other items. Poodles are one of the hardest animals to find in the entire state of San Andreas. This guide will show you where to find these rare dogs and how to begin photographing animals.
Los Santos Tourist Board
You must accept the challenge from the Los Santos Tourist Board to begin photographing the wildlife. You can do this by driving to the board itself. The tourist board is on the side of the road that goes from Los Santos to Paleto Bay. The board is marked as a small purple camera icon on the map. Walk up to it and press right on the D-Pad to receive the list of three animals marked for the current day.
If you are not in the mood to drive all the way there, you should receive an email from the tourist board when joining a free-roam multiplayer session. Open the emails on your phone to receive the list. You can check it to see your progress.
Photographing your first animal will unlock the Park Ranger to be purchased from the Warstock Cache & Carry website. Photographing three animals will unlock an outfit based on Ave Ventura for you to wear.
Poodle Locations
Poodles can be very hard to find in Grand Theft Auto Online. Poodles will only be out during the day and absent if it's raining. You should narrow your search to the Rockford Hills & Vespucci Beach areas on the western side of the city. This includes the Richman area around the mansion and tennis court. You may get lucky and see an NPC walking their pet poodle in these places.
The place where you'll most likely find a poodle is in the area around the Ponsonbys clothing store, situated in Rockford Hills. Get out of your car and walk on foot around the block a few times. The poodle may appear near the store or one street over where the barber shop and Luxury Autos storefront is located.
Keep searching as long as the sun is out, and you should find a poodle seated near one of the shops. It won't move as long as you do nothing to startle it. Pull out your phone and take a centered, unobstructed picture of it. Press the Square button/X Button to send the picture and receive your reward.
