Summary
- Gamers can make Pizza Delivery runs easier in GTA Online by using a pickup truck instead of the sluggish Pizza Boy scooter.
- Loading the scooter onto a Vapid Sandking XL allows for faster deliveries, but requires careful driving to avoid mishaps.
- While upgrading the Pizza Boy scooter is recommended for the best possible runs, trying out the truck method can be entertaining and useful if players get good at it.
A Grand Theft Auto Online player has discovered a neat trick that makes Pizza Delivery runs much easier. Although they sound simple in concept and are one of the few "legitimate" ways to make money in Grand Theft Auto Online, Pizza Delivery odd jobs can prove to be nail-biting at times.
Pizza Delivery jobs were drip-fed recently as part of GTA Online's Bottom Dollar Bounties summer update. Players can go to any of the numerous Pizza This... Restaurants scattered throughout Los Santos and begin the missions, wherein they're assigned five drop-off locations to deliver the pizzas. These deliveries must be carried out on a rather underpowered Pegassi Pizza Boy scooter. Moreover, a 10-minute long "heat" timer starts ticking down as soon as the Pizza Delivery run begins. Those who deliver all five pizzas before the heat timer elapses receive a Hot and Fresh bonus, which appears easy but can be quite challenging.
The delivery locations are often spread far apart, with some even situated in the Vinewood Hills region that has steeply inclined roads. The sluggish Pizza Boy scooter can really struggle in environments like these, eating up valuable seconds from the heat timer and endangering the bonus. Thankfully, Reddit user Interesting-Ad-2570 recently shared a useful method to complete Pizza Delivery odd jobs in GTA Online within the countdown every single time. In a clip uploaded to the r/gtaonline subreddit, the player circumvented the Pizza Boy scooter's tepid performance by simply loading it onto a Vapid Sandking XL and driving the pickup truck to every drop-off location in GTA Online.
Pickup Truck Makes GTA Online Pizza Deliveries Quicker, But Has its Own Issues
The trick is simple but ingenious, as the significantly more powerful Vapid pickup truck can get to locations much quicker while making easy work of any gradients in the road. The Sandking XL is not only one of the best off-road vehicles in GTA Online, but also relatively cheap at just $45,000. However, Interesting-Ad-2570 did mention some caveats to this method, particularly the finicky process of loading the scooter into the pickup truck's bed, which can ironically take up a lot of time. Due to GTA Online's physics oddities, the truck must also be driven gingerly, especially around corners, otherwise the scooter will fly out at the first sign of rash driving.
The only upside to this trick is the ability to pick up lots of speed on straight stretches of road, but this could also send the scooter flying if it isn't perfectly positioned in the truck bed. Therefore, Interesting-Ad-2570 recommends that GTA Online players should simply buy the Pizza Boy scooter and upgrade it for quicker Pizza Delivery runs. Still, the method does sound fun to try out given GTA Online's weird yet entertaining physics glitches.
