Missions are a massive part of Rockstar Games’ GTA Online. They help players earn money, job points, and reputation points, all of which are important for thriving in the vast world of Los Santos. The game adds new jobs and missions with regular updates that you can do by yourself or with friends.
Having said that, there are times when you might start a mission before your friend joins, need to change the mission settings, or accidentally accept a mission you didn’t want to do. In these situations, knowing how to cancel a mission can be really useful. If you want to learn how to cancel missions in GTA Online, this guide will help you out.
GTA Online: Where to Find Cats
Cats are in the PS5/Xbox Series X versions of GTA Online. Here is how you can find some.
How to Quit Missions in GTA Online
Here are some ways players can quit missions in the game.
Leave GTA Online
The simplest way to cancel any mission in GTA Online is by leaving the mission mode and returning to story mode. To do this, go to the Pause Menu, select the Online tab, and scroll down to find the ‘Leave GTA Online’ option.
Once you do this, you’ll automatically be taken out of the mission. This method works for all types of missions, including the Contract and Freemode ones.
Find a New Session
Another method to leave a mission is by joining a new session in the game. For this, open your Pause Menu, go to the Online section, and select the ‘Find New Session’ option.
Here, GTA players will have several options to choose from, such as the solo public session, joining an invite-only session, or a crew session. Selecting any of these will take you out of your current mission and put you into a new setup.
While both the aforementioned methods are helpful, the leaving GTA Online method is a lot easier. Use the ‘Find New Session’ only when you want to join another mission instead of returning to the lobby.
