A GTA Online player has shared the bizarre moment they experienced in-game, where the moon simply disappeared from the sky. The odd GTA Online glitch has puzzled players, but also amused the community at large.
Plenty of games have moons, but Grand Theft Auto's moons have had some unusual qualities over the years. Most fans know that shooting the moon in several of the GTA games will cause the moon's size to change. However, GTA fans have also looked to the moon for answers, believing at one point that the moon played a role in when the second GTA 6 trailer would launch. While that turned out to be false, there are still some oddities surrounding the heavenly body in GTA Online.
GTA Online Offering Quadruple Rewards
Players can take advantage of some nice new rewards in GTA Online, with Rockstar announcing quadruple GTA$ and RP on select jobs.
Over on Reddit, user GoldPoint5 shared a brief video clip of the game seen here, which shows the player flying through the air in a GTA chopper, with the moon hovering in the sky. A few seconds into the clip, the moon spontaneously vanishes from the sky. Although the player moves their chopper and camera around a bit, it doesn't seem like the moon has relocated, and the lighting effect it was providing to the area disappears along with it. Given the nature of GTA, GoldPoint 5 joked that someone must have stolen the moon.
GTA Online Players Joke About Moon's Random Disappearance
Numerous fans have showed up in the comments to joke about the experience GoldPoint5 had, with a number of them referencing Gru from Despicable Me, who aspired to steal the moon. Some referenced other media that revolve around strange moon occurrences, like Marvel's Moon Knight, Dragon Ball Z, or even the iconic Star Wars "That's no moon" moment. Others joked that someone was griefing the server by blowing the moon up with the notorious Oppressor MK2 flying vehicle. One took the opportunity to highlight their frustration with the GTA+ service, joking that the moon would only be available to those who subscribed to it.
While it's not clear what happened to cause the moon to just vanish, it's far from the only odd GTA Online glitch. Fans have also become accustomed to seeing random glitches like casino dealers or even the lucky wheel at the Diamond Casino completely disappear, while another odd moment led to a player's game looking like something out of a Spider-Verse film. Thankfully, the moon's disappearance didn't have any real impact on gameplay, but it's nonetheless odd to see.
