This beginner's guide to GTA Online will ensure you don't get overwhelmed with the bounty of activities now available in 2026 and beyond.
How to Start the Firefighter Job in GTA Online
What Can You Do As a Firefighter?
In order to become a firefighter in GTA Online, you will need to visit the El Burro Heights Fire Station found on Capital Boulevard, which we've shown above on the map. Once you're close to the marked area, a blue icon will appear that reads "LS Fire Department", and you can enter the Los Santos County Fire Department Fire Station 7 and head to the blue circle on the right, where pressing right on the D-Pad will allow you to begin working as a firefighter.
You'll then respawn in control of your own Fire Truck, which you can drive around Los Santos and follow dispatch instructions. There are a total of 7 unique jobs for firefighters to complete, but these are acquired at random, and you can only complete 5 back-to-back before you need to return to the station:
- Extinguish fires on burning buildings
- Rescuing civilians from burning buildings
- Rescue cats from rooftops
- Shutting off gas leaks
- Extinguish oil tanker fires
- Extinguish fires on burning vehicles
- Extinguish dumpster fires
If you own a Fire Truck, you can also start the dispatch work from inside your own vehicle instead of heading to the Fire Station!
All Firefighter Odd Job Rewards
After completing 25 Firefighter Jobs, you will be rewarded with The Unwavering Outfit, which is a clean version of the Firefighter outfit that can be found within the Firefighter Gear section of your outfit collection. Outside of the unique reward for playing 25 jobs, you can also earn cash and RP based on the speed it takes to complete them. The maximum amount of money you can earn per job is $7,5000 and 250 RP, which is $37,500 for every successful run as a firefighter.
