  • Grand Theft Auto 6 fans are concerned about how the game will run on the Xbox Series S.
  • Fans were left blown away by the second trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6, which was released earlier this week.
  • The Series S has a less powerful GPU and less RAM than the Series X, leading to many mocking the idea of Grand Theft Auto 6 on the console.

Grand Theft Auto 6 fans are seriously concerned about the game's performance on the Xbox Series S, with many taking to social media to mock the console following the game's latest trailer. While the Xbox Series S is a fantastic, budget-friendly console for gamers, it has far less performance than its costlier counterpart, the Series X, leading to fans' concerns that Grand Theft Auto 6 will simply be too intense for the console.

Earlier this week, developer and publisher Rockstar Games shocked fans by releasing the second trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6. Not only did it finally give fans a more in-depth look at Vice City and the game's two protagonists, Jason and Lucia, but a detailed breakdown of the game also appeared on Rockstar Games' website with 70 new screenshots for fans to analyze. The gaming community quickly agreed that Grand Theft Auto 6 appears to be the most graphically impressive game to date, which is why many are concerned about how it will perform on the Xbox Series S.

GTA 6 Fans Mock Xbox Series S Version

With the next Grand Theft Auto title set to push current-gen hardware to its absolute limits, it's not surprising to know that tech experts Digital Foundry have already claimed Grand Theft Auto 6 will likely run at 30 FPS, even on the more powerful consoles, such as the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 Pro. With this in mind, many are questioning (and mocking) how this graphically intense title is going to run on the Series S, as the console is far less powerful than its counterpart, the Series X. As reported by Dexerto, fans are eager to see what compromises the studio has had to make in order for the title to run on the Series S.

The Xbox Series S is great for fans looking to check out many of the new additions to Xbox Game Pass each month, but the console does come with quite a few drawbacks. With less GPU power and RAM and a 1440p resolution that is upscaled to 4K, those looking for the best gaming performance possible will want to go with Series X, PS5 Pro, or, even better, a PC.

With far less performance power than other consoles, fans aren't convinced that Grand Theft Auto 6 will even run on the Series S. One user says the "little potato is going to explode the second you click play on Grand Theft Auto 6," while another says that Rockstar Games will be "the greatest developer of all time" if it is able to get GTA 6 running on the Series S. Many others simply mocked the idea of Grand Theft Auto 6 on the Series S, jokingly posting screenshots of 2002's Vice City with Jason and/or Lucia modded into the game.

Rockstar Games has already confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S at launch, but how the title will perform on Microsoft's budget-friendly console remains a mystery. Sadly, it will be quite some time until fans get to experience the highly anticipated title, as Rockstar Games has also confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 has been delayed until May 26, 2026. The next entry in the series was initially set for Fall 2025, but was pushed back to allow the developer more time to perfect the title.
