Summary
- Steven Ogg suggests killing off Trevor in GTA 6 for fun.
- GTA 6's release is coming a whopping 12 years after GTA 5.
- It's unclear if any GTA 5 characters will appear in the new game.
If Trevor appears in Grand Theft Auto 6, Steven Ogg thinks it would be "fun" for the character to be killed off at the beginning of the game. Assuming it meets its planned release window and isn't delayed to next year, Grand Theft Auto 6 will be launching a whopping 12 years after GTA 5 first hit store shelves in 2013.
Grand Theft Auto 5 is one of the most financially successful video games ever made. The single-player campaign earned a great deal of critical acclaim, but the online multiplayer has given GTA 5 unprecedented longevity for the franchise. GTA Online remains hugely popular to this day, but there are many Grand Theft Auto fans ready to move on to the franchise's next big game.
What to Expect From Grand Theft Auto 6 in 2025
Grand Theft Auto 6 might be one of the most anticipated games of all time, but going into 2025, managing expectations is key.
When Grand Theft Auto 6 finally releases, it will be interesting to see what connections it has to GTA 5. It's possible some Grand Theft Auto 5 characters will pop up in GTA 6, though that remains to be seen. If one such character is Trevor, actor Steven Ogg has a suggestion for how he should be used in GTA 6. In an interview with Screen Rant, Ogg said that it "would be fun" for Trevor to appear in GTA 6 "just to be killed at the beginning." This would be a callback to Trevor in GTA 5, as one of his first acts in the game is killing off one of the playable characters from a previous GTA title.
Steven Ogg Thinks It Would Be 'Fun' to Kill Off Trevor in GTA 6
As it stands, no returning characters from GTA 5 have been confirmed for Grand Theft Auto 6. All we know from the first GTA 6 trailer is that one of the main characters is a woman named Lucia, who lives in Leonida. Leonida, for the uninitiated, is the GTA universe's take on Florida, and it includes the infamous Vice City, itself based on Miami.
There have been precious few other details revealed for GTA 6 in the year since the first trailer hit the Internet. At this stage, we don't even know the name of the male character from the first GTA 6 trailer, and Rockstar has made no indication of when it might drop Trailer 2. With no official word from Rockstar Games on when it will divulge more details on GTA 6, fans have started coming up with wild conspiracy theories about when the second trailer is going to drop. These theories are routinely proven incorrect, but with GTA 6 aiming for a fall 2025 release window, it's only a matter of time before Trailer 2 is released.
