"Conflicting Reports" Suggest GTA 6 Could Face Another Delay

Reece Reilly, host of the Kiwi Talkz podcast, responded to another user on Twitter to say that Grand Theft Auto 6 could be delayed yet again. Several industry insiders have already cast doubt over GTA 6's May 2026 release target, and now Reilly has added fuel to the fire, saying he's heard "conflicting reports" from devs at different Rockstar studios. Given that conflict, Reilly clarified that another delay is not necessarily guaranteed but that it's not certain that work on the game will finish on time, either.

In the replies, Reilly said that his guess as to why he's hearing different things is that there is internal debate about whether a May 26, 2026, release date is feasible. He claimed that the game is likely nearing completion, but that it requires extensive testing to ensure it meets expectations, citing Cyberpunk 2077's infamously buggy launch. This amount of remaining work may seem all the more imposing in light of Rockstar's recent firing of dozens of staff members.
