An eagle-eyed Grand Theft Auto 6 fan online has noticed another neat connection between Red Dead Redemption 2 in the latest trailer for the game. The newest discovery lends credence to the theory that Grand Theft Auto 6 takes place in the same universe as the Red Dead Redemption series.
Since the launch of Grand Theft Auto 6's Trailer 2, fans have scoured through every frame to try and find any new details they can about the upcoming title. Given the fact that their last look at the game came in December 2023, it's no surprise that fans want to know everything about the game. There was even one Grand Theft Auto 6 fan who uploaded every frame from Trailer 2 in the hunt for new information, which certainly makes it easier for fans to look through and find any hidden details.
A Grand Theft Auto 6 Accessory Can Be Purchased in GTA Online
Eagle-eyed fans discover that an accessory visible in a Grand Theft Auto 6 screenshot can actually be purchased in GTA Online.
As reported by The Gamer, X user SynthPotato noticed that the weapons featured in Grand Theft Auto 6's Trailer 2 are manufactured by Duke. This weapons manufacturer also appears frequently in Red Dead Redemption 2, with the company's logo even remaining the same across the two games. This has led some fans to believe that Red Dead Redemption 2 and the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6 are set in the same universe, and frankly, given the time difference between the two series, there's no reason why this couldn't be the case.
GTA 6's Gun Manufacturers are the Same Company as in Red Dead Redemption 2
It isn't the first hint that this theory could be correct. After the release of the trailer, one Grand Theft Auto 6 fan discovered a different Red Dead Redemption 2 connection, after noticing that the cash on the trailer features the Presidents depicted in Rockstar's Western title. One reference could be seen as a fun nod to the Red Dead Redemption series, but including multiple connections appears to be a deliberate effort to create a shared universe between the two. There may be even more Red Dead Redemption 2 connections hidden in the trailer or the full game, too.
With Grand Theft Auto 6 now delayed until May 2026, gamers still have a while to wait before they can get their hands on the highly anticipated title. Hopefully, in the time between now and its release, Rockstar keeps fans satisfied with a stream of content that offers insight into what they can expect from the game. The 17-month gap between Trailers 1 and 2 was a rough wait for many.
