Summary

  • A GTA Online player highlighted bandanas similar to the garments worn by GTA 6's Jason and Lucia.
  • The cosmetics have been available through The Chop Shop DLC since December 2023, and some Redditors believe the bandanas are just the standard paisley design instead of GTA 6 nods.
  • GTA 6 is expected to release in Q3/Q4 2025, featuring the open world of Leonida.

A Grand Theft Auto Online player has highlighted subtle references to Grand Theft Auto 6 protagonists Jason and Lucia, and they're hiding in plain sight within certain cosmetics added last year. Grand Theft Auto 6 is expected to be the biggest game release of 2025, should Rockstar be able to keep to the deadline. While fans wait patiently for release day, they have been noting anything and everything that could hint at upcoming features, plot points, and characters in the sixth main entry, especially while biding their time for a second trailer.

GTA 6 is expected to launch in Q3/Q4 2025 following its 2023 reveal, and the new entry will take advantage of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S tech. Rockstar’s next GTA entry features two Bonnie-and-Clyde-like protagonists who have resonated with fans, so much so, that two Grand Theft Auto 6 fans jumped straight into an impressive Jason and Lucia cosplay. The twosome features the first female GTA protagonist since 2000, and gamers anticipate a high-octane chase across Leonida’s open world playing as the fugitives.

Posted on Reddit by Jad_jd, side-by-side comparisons of GTA Online cosmetics and the upcoming protagonists were shared within the GTA 6 subreddit. The fan noted how certain bandanas resembling Jason and Lucia’s garments had been available through The Chop Shop DLC since December 2023, and they were surprised no one noticed. Grand Theft Auto Online’s The Chop Shop update also featured the Albany Cavalcade XL for players to grab, and some fans believe the bandanas carry the same pattern as Jason and Lucia’s.

GTA Online Player Highlights Bandana Cosmetics Similar to Jason and Lucia's in GTA 6

The fan also highlighted a character on the DLC’s promotional artwork that wore the same styled bandana and pink shirt as Lucia, but some Redditors weren’t convinced. Jason and Lucia are expected to perform adrenaline-fueled robberies in the upcoming release, matching the energy of Grand Theft Auto Online’s best heists. Still, a handful of users thought the bandana design matched the standard paisley pattern, and therefore, they weren’t convinced it was a nod.

The fate of the loved-up protagonists is locked behind the upcoming title’s narrative. Still, one Unreal Engine 5 concept video predicted a dark end for Grand Theft Auto 6’s Jason and Lucia, and these ideas are getting fans excited about what’s to come. In the interim, players can don these GTA Online bandanas to channel the energy of the criminal duo ahead of time.
