The Pet Mutation update adds a lot of exciting new things to Grown a Garden. The titular pet mutations are undoubtedly the pick of the bunch, but the Primal Egg isn't too far behind, with many Roblox players excited to get their hands on some more prehistoric pets.
Grow a Garden: All Pets & What They Do
Pets have been part of Grow a Garden since the 1.04.0 update, helping players in numerous ways; here’s a list of all the critters and what they do.
Just like the Dinosaur Egg before it, the Primal Egg can hatch into one of six different dinosaurs, each of which has its own unique traits and abilities. However, before players can start opening them, they'll first need to unlock Primal Eggs in Grow a Garden.
How to Get Primal Eggs in Grow a Garden
In order to unlock Primal Eggs, players will need to speak with Barry to upgrade the DNA Machine. Giving him 40 KG of Prehistoric Plants will make it so that Primal Eggs have a chance to appear in the DNA Machine when players give their non-dinosaur pets to Graham. Upgrading the machine three more times will unlock craftable eggs, at which point, players will be able to craft Primal Eggs at the prehistoric crafting table. In total, they'll need to give Barry 280 KG of Prehistoric Plants to unlock craftable eggs.

Primal Eggs take four hours and ten minutes to hatch and can contain one of six different dinosaurs. The Spinosaurus is arguably the best Primal Egg pet due to its ability to spread mutations to the player's favorited fruit, although the Pachycephalosaurus can also be great for those who spend a lot of time crafting, particularly if players add a gold or rainbow pet mutation to it.
