After the Chubby Chipmunk event, Roblox Grow a Garden rolled out its Halloween event, which was first called Ghoul Garden. As the name hints, it’s a fun seasonal update that lets players earn spooky critters, crops, and cosmetics.
But with things like the Witch’s Cauldron, Halloween Market spawn, and Jack-o-Lantern visits, figuring out how it all works can get a little tricky. This guide covers how to complete the Halloween event and what new items and mutations it brings to Grow a Garden this week.
How to Play the Halloween Event in Grow a Garden
Halloween is a limited-time event in Roblox Grow a Garden. It originally runs from October 11 to October 18, but Part 2 is expected to arrive the following week, bringing a few new items. The mechanics, however, will remain the same.
When you first step onto the event platform, you’ll spot a creepy witch standing beside her cauldron. Talking to her reveals that she’s busy brewing special potions, and since you’re one of the talented gardeners on the island, she needs your plants to make them even better.
To help her, simply gather random fruits from your garden. Once your inventory is full, use the “Submit All Fruit” option to toss everything into the pot. The more produce you add, the faster the cauldron's progress bar fills.
Since this is a shared task, everyone on the server can contribute to the same goal. Players can also spend 99 Robux to fill the pot instantly.
When the cauldron reaches 100% progress, you’ll earn between 10 to 20 Candy Corn based on how much you helped. This is the event currency you’ll need to grab exclusive Halloween items from the shop, so saving it up pays off. Along with Candy Corn, there’s also a chance to receive a Spooky Egg or Pumpkin Crate. If you’re one of the top contributors, the reward can even increase to two. On top of that, the witch may trigger spooky weather as a bonus.
The witch is also searching for a mysterious Goblin creature, which players haven’t fully figured out yet.
What is the Jack-o-Lantern for in Grow a Garden?
On the right side of the platform, an ancient Jack-o-Lantern NPC appears every two hours and stays for ten minutes. It only reacts to Halloween plants or fruits with Halloween mutations.
In Roblox Grow a Garden, Halloween plants include:
- Bloodred Mushroom
- Jack-O-Lantern
- Ghoul Root
- Chicken Feed
- Seer Vine
- Poison Apple
- Great Pumpkin
- Banesberry
Some of these can be picked up from the Halloween Market’s spooky seed shop, Sam’s Seed Shop, or through the Bone Dog. Halloween mutations include Spooky, Ghostly, and Vamp.
The Jack-o-Lantern accepts any of the listed plants or fruits carrying one of these mutations. In return, it rewards you with Candy Corn, Spooky Eggs, or Pumpkin Crates. Sometimes, though, it just gives you a good scare and nothing else.
Remember, the amount of Candy Corn you get from The Jack-o-Lantern depends on the rarity of the Halloween plant or mutated fruit you offer. Prismatic and Transcendent plants give the highest points, and if the fruit has a silver, gold, or rainbow variant, both the points and the event currency reward increase even more.
Grow a Garden Halloween Market Items
The Halloween Market is an exclusive event shop that shows up only during Halloween Night, a special weather that triggers automatically every 45 minutes or can occasionally be activated by the witch. The market features different NPCs running stalls that sell Halloween-themed pets, seeds, and decor sets.

All Halloween Mutations in Grow a Garden
There are three special Halloween mutations introduced with the 1.27.0 update in Roblox Grow a Garden. Since you’ll need these mutations on crops to give them to the Jack-o-Lantern NPC for rewards (including plenty of Candy Corn), here’s a quick look at how to force them onto fruits in your garden:
|
Halloween Mutations |
Multiplier |
How to Get It? |
|---|---|---|
|
Vamp |
3x |
The Vamp mutation is applied during the Bat Attack weather, which spawns naturally throughout the Halloween event. So, just wait for it to show up. |
|
Spooky |
8x |
The Spooky mutation makes ghosts appear from the plant. It’s applied using the Ghost Bear pet, which can be picked up from the Creepy Critters Shop. |
|
Ghostly |
30x |
The Ghostly mutation can be forced on plants through the Great Pumpkin, the first seed with a passive mutation ability. You can buy it for 15,000,000,000 Sheckles or 1,999 Robux from Sam’s Seed Shop. |
