Boiling Glands are crafting materials needed to make Sizzling Reduction gear, a key requirement for exploring certain locations of Brookhollow Park in Grounded 2. Boiling Glands and Bombardier Parts are dropped by Bombardier Beetles that roam the park.
While the resource finder does point players towards nearby Bombardier Beetles when prompted, it is not very accurate and only highlights the insects in the immediate vicinity of the player, leaving larger gatherings elsewhere unmarked.
How to Get Boiling Glands
In addition to Bombardier Parts, Boiling Glands can be obtained by killing and harvesting Bombardier Beetles, though they have a relatively low drop rate. Typically, one in every four or five Bombardier Beetles drops a Boiling Gland upon death, making them quite hard to farm in large quantities.
Bombardier Beetle Locations
Bombardier Beetles are relatively common insects in Brookhollow Park, but owing to their larger size, they are mostly solitary. Luckily, their locations are fixed, and while they do patrol, it is only in a limited area, which makes them easy to spot. Here are some of their early game locations.
- South of the Picnic Table is a rocky path that cuts diagonally across the Snackbar Front area, leading towards Headless BURG.L. There are two Bombardier Beetles on this path.
- East of Headless BURG.L, directly north of the Podium where the Wolf Spider hides, is another Bombardier Beetle.
- There is a brick path on the border of the Ice Cream Cart and Entrance area with a Bombardier Beetle roaming its length.
- Just northwest of the Trash Can is another one.
- There is a large tree covered in mushrooms west of the Trash Can. West of it are two more Bombardier Beetles.
There are many more Bombardier Beetles in the game, but these are the ones that are the easiest to find in the early stages of Grounded 2.
How to Defeat Bombardier Beetles
Bombardier Beetles are quite easy to kill once you know what their trick is. The only thing of note these insects can do is lob sizzling goo at you to inflict the status effect, either from their mouths or from their abdomens. Both of these attacks are easy to avoid as they are telegraphed heavily. The only thing to pay attention to is not to stand inside the burning white liquid’s AoE.
Riding on a Red Soldier Ant Buggy makes avoiding the attacks even easier, but do take note that you will be stunned out of your mount if you end up taking direct damage.
