Grounded 2: How to Craft a Gas Mask

The map of Grounded 2 is dotted with multiple areas and points of interest where toxic fumes prevent players from exploring the region. Venturing deep into these locations is impossible without the proper equipment and preparation.

Fortunately, dealing with toxic areas is easier than it might appear, as it only requires a single item to completely nullify all toxic damage to the player. Here’s how it works.

How to Survive Toxic Areas in Grounded 2

How to Climb the Garbage Can in Grounded 2

The best way to deal with Toxic gas in Grounded 2 is to use a Gas Mask, a craftable armor piece that allows the player character to breathe in toxic fumes safely, nullifying all negative effects. Not only does this allow players to safely traverse areas like the Garbage Can without issue, but it also neutralizes the toxic gas emitted by Stinkbugs in the game.

Alternatively, players can also use Gastroo Goo, a healing item that provides the Gas Guard buff for a short duration when consumed, achieving the same effect as the Gas Mask.

How to Craft a Gas Mask in Grounded 2

Players can craft a Gas Mask using the following materials:

Gas Mask	Weevil Nose x1	Workbench
	Gnat Fuzz x4
	Crude Rope x2
	Stinkbug Part x1

The Gas Mask loses durability when the effects of Gas Guard are actively being used, which only occurs when the player is in a toxic zone. As it is the only armor piece in the game that provides immunity to toxic biomes, it’s worth upgrading it using Brittle Plating to increase durability.

How to Make Gastroo Goo in Grounded 2

Gastroo Goo can be crafted at a Smoothie Station with the following ingredients:

Item	Ingredient	Base	Crafting Station
Gastroo Goo	Stinkbug Gas Sack x1	Grub Sludge OR Gum Nugget	Smoothie Station
	Roach Chunk x1
	Aphid Honeydew x1

To make a Smoothie, players will need to select a base for the mixture. They will have two options: Grub Sludge and Gum Nugget. Using the Gum Nugget as the base will give Gastroo Goo the Sticky modifier, which makes it so the effects of the smoothie last longer. Grub Sludge offers no additional benefits.
