Rockstar released update 1.66 for Grand Theft Auto Online, bringing various improvements to the multiplayer offshoot of Grand Theft Auto 5. This update will allow players to further appreciate their time in Grand Theft Auto Online, whether they prefer racing cars in the streets of Los Santos or taking part in elaborate heists.

Grand Theft Auto Online features plenty of activities for players who want to play their own character in the GTA universe. This online multiplayer game brings everything needed to build a criminal empire, from heists to stunt races and other storytelling missions. The recent Los Santos Drug Wars content update for Grand Theft Auto Online even introduced ways to make and sell drugs to various dealers throughout Los Santos. Once they gathered enough in-game currency, players can purchase various properties including offices, warehouses, bunkers, apartments, and even a fancy garage to showcase up to 50 cars from their Grand Theft Auto Online collection.

Rockstar published the patch notes for update 1.66 of Grand Theft Auto Online, which is focussing on security and stability. Rockstar rolled out this update for all Grand Theft Auto Online players with minor differences between platforms.

This new security update comes a month after a Grand Theft Auto Online exploit was discovered. This major security breach allowed hackers to alter other Grand Theft Auto Online players' stats and even permanently corrupt their accounts so they couldn’t access the game after being hacked. Rockstar was quickly aware of this situation and logged any affected accounts before hackers could further abuse these exploits, before releasing a patch for the game. Besides Grand Theft Auto Online, the publisher rolled out a security update for Red Dead Redemption 2 and its multiplayer component Red Dead Online.

As the safety of Grand Theft Auto Online is now back to normal and the latest patch fixed various gameplay issues, players can once again enjoy the various activities included in this multiplayer open-world game. Players regularly share their gameplay highlights on social media, from funny glitches to weird performances, such as a Grand Theft Auto Online player obliterating a fighter plane with a single shot from an assault rifle or another player who somehow managed to get their boat in the rooftop pool of a casino.
