Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto 6 is still officially slated to release in May 2026, but recent supposed leaks have detailed various editions of the open-world, action-adventure game and suggested that it may be delayed once more. According to leaker Millie A, Grand Theft Auto 6 will be sold in at least three editions: Standard, Deluxe, and Premium, with the Standard Edition costing $79.99 or £69.99. On top of these editions, Millie A claims that GTA 6 could be delayed again to September 2026. While it remains to be seen if these leaks are true, GTA fans can predict what GTA 6’s Collector's Edition may include based on prior Rockstar game releases.

Grand Theft Auto fans are asking Rockstar to bring back a classic feature from GTA: San Andreas with the release of Grand Theft Auto 6.

Past Rockstar Games’ Collector’s Editions Explained

In 2013, Rockstar Games released arguably one of the most popular games of the 21st century with Grand Theft Auto 5 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. While fans who pre-ordered the Standard Edition of GTA 5 would have received a map of Los Santos and Blaine County, players who pre-ordered the game before September 17 would have received access to pilot the Atomic Blimp in-game vehicle.

However, the Standard Edition wasn’t the only form of GTA 5 fans could pre-order. They could have pre-ordered GTA 5 Special Edition, which included:

  • A full retail copy of Grand Theft Auto 5
  • A collectible steelbook with exclusive artwork
  • A blueprint map of Los Santos and Blaine County
  • An in-game Special Ability Boost for Michael, Franklin and Trevor
  • Access to in-game Stunt Plane Trials
  • In-game bonus outfits, tattoos, and shop deals for Michael, Franklin and Trevor
  • The Pistol.50, Bullpup Shotgun, and melee Hammer available for free at Ammunation stores

Grand Theft Auto 5’s Collector’s Edition featured all content of the Special Edition plus:

  • A Grand Theft Auto 5 branded security deposit bag with logo key
  • A Los Santos embroidered New Era 9FIFTY™ snapback cap
  • Access to use classic Grand Theft Auto characters to use for Grand Theft Auto Online’s Character Creation System
  • Access to an in-game garage for single player and online, featuring a Hotknife hotrod, the CarbonRS sports bike, and Khamelion electric car.

In contrast to Grand Theft Auto 5, 2018’s Red Dead Redemption 2 was available for pre-order in three editions: Special, Ultimate, and Collector’s. Players who pre-ordered a standard copy of Red Dead Redemption 2 would have received access to the Story Mode exclusive War Horse and Outlaw Survival Kit, while digital pre-orders would have given players a cash bonus and a treasure map for Story Mode. For the Special Edition, players would have received:

  • Access to Story Mode’s Bank Robbery Mission and Del Lobos Gang Hideout
  • A Dappled Black Thoroughbred horse
  • An Eagle Talon Talisman and Iguana Scale Medallion
  • A Core Stat boost
  • The Nuevo Paraiso Gunslinger Outfit
  • Access to the Volcanic Pistol, Pump Action Shotgun, and Lancaster Varmint Rifle

Red Dead Redemption 2’s Ultimate Edition featured all content of the Special Edition plus:

  • The Blackrose Bounty Hunter and Copperhead Enforcer Outfits
  • A Black Chestnut Thoroughbred horse
  • Free Access to the Survivor Camp Theme in Red Dead Online
  • Red Dead Online Rank bonuses

Red Dead Redemption 2’s Collector’s Edition Box did not come with a code or disc of Red Dead Redemption 2, but it did include:

  • A Metal Tithing Box with Lock & Key and an engraved Cornwall Freight & Commodities plaque
  • A Collectible Challenge Coin
  • A 100-piece double-sided wooden jigsaw puzzle featuring the port of Saint Denis and Rockstar Games logo
  • A Six Shooter Bandana
  • A physical Treasure Map
  • A small Red Dead Redemption 2 canvas bag containing six weapon pins
  • 12 cigarette cards
  • A 150-page replica of the Wheeler, Rawson and Co. Catalogue
  • A deck of Red Dead Redemption 2 playing cards

Potential Features of Grand Theft Auto 6’s Collector’s Edition

According to Millie A’s Grand Theft Auto 6 leak, GTA 6 currently has three upcoming editions with various features. GTA 6’s Standard Edition includes just the game itself, the Deluxe Edition includes early access to GTA 6’s iteration of Grand Theft Auto Online, and the Premium Edition includes even earlier access to GTA Online. It remains to be seen if these editions are true or if they’ll include more features, but Rockstar will likely release a Collector’s Edition for GTA 6 similar to GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2. With GTA 6 and 5 being from the same series, it’s likely that the two games’ Collector’s Editions will be similar to each other.

For example, Grand Theft Auto 6’s Collector’s Edition will probably feature a map of Leonida and Vice City, various exclusive in-game boosts, weapons, and cosmetics, a steelbook, and a Vice City hat. The Collector’s Edition may include other features tied to GTA 6’s story and characters, such as an Only Raw Records-branded vinyl record of GTA 6’s soundtrack, given how popular vinyl has become in recent years and how prevalent music is in GTA 6. A GTA 6-branded duffel bag and possibly some Vice City Police Department merch would also make sense, given how prominent heists are in GTA overall. As a cherry on top, the box containing all of these materials could even be made to look like the safe Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos are seen dragging with a truck.
