Summary

  • Rockstar has delayed GTA 6 to May 2026, disappointing many fans.
  • New characters, celebrity talent, and a variety of music genres are showcased in the second trailer.
  • GTA 6 expands Vice City, offering districts, wildlife, nightlife, mini-games, various vehicles, and weapon options.

As soon as Grand Theft Auto 5 was released in 2013, fans knew a sequel would come. They probably didn’t know it would take over a decade, though. Grand Theft Auto 6’s first trailer was released in 2024, which promised a nebulous 2025 release date. However, Rockstar announced that the game was getting delayed into May of 2026, which was a big bummer for a lot of fans, especially since this news came with no new images or trailers.

Grand Theft Auto: 6 Best Trailers In The Franchise

Grand Theft Auto has always managed to generate hype around new games, but which Grand Theft Auto trailers have been the best?

But, to keep the hype alive, Rockstar dropped a new trailer that has been heating up the news once again. With so much going on in said trailer, however, it can be hard for viewers to keep up. As such, here's a detailed look at what has been confirmed by GTA 6 Trailer 2.

5 Celebrity Talent Is Brewing

And So Too Is The Music

One of the new characters introduced in this second GTA 6 trailer is Brian. Jason rents a house from Brian and works for him by picking up renter checks and doing drug runs. His voice actor seems to be Stephen Root, though it has not been officially announced yet. Root’s voice is very distinct; most may recognize it as Bill from King of the Hill or Fuches from Barry.

Grand Theft Auto Best Cities To Live
Grand Theft Auto: 6 Best Cities To Live In

The Grand Theft Auto franchise contains a lot of violence and crime, but there are still some cities that seem like nice places to live.

Another new character, Cal, seems like he is voiced by former SNL star Bobby Moynihan, although that feels less than 100% compared to Root. Finally, several songs can be heard in the trailer besides the track “Hot Together” by The Pointer Sisters being played. They include “Child Support” by Zenglen, “Everybody Have Fun Tonight” by Wang Chung, and “Talkin’ to Myself Again” by Tammy Wynette. Radio stations have always been a big part of the Grand Theft Auto series, so while flipping through tunes doesn't reveal anything wild, it is still nice to see that Rockstar is providing players with a variety of musical genres.

4 There Are Districts

It Goes Beyond Vice City

Old Grand Theft Auto games were purely focused on one city. The game that changed it all was Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, which featured multiple areas beyond the hustle and bustle of city life in Los Santos. Grand Theft Auto 5 reused this region and expanded it by a huge degree. Now, Grand Theft Auto 6 gets to expand Vice City by offering regions beyond the beachfront.

In the trailer, fans can see snippets of Ambrosia, Grassrivers, Leonida Keys, and Port Gellhorn, all of which are highlighted better with screenshots on Rockstar’s website. Even cooler, there’s Mount Kalaga National Park, which should feature tons of wildlife, as deer and big cats are shown in the screenshots. There should be plenty of other animals in the game, too, from snakes to gators. Because this part of the world features so many creatures, it would not be hard to imagine Grand Theft Auto 6 players being able to hunt animals like in Red Dead Redemption 2, although that may be a step too far.

3 There Are Many Ways To Enjoy The Nightlife

It Seems That Several Mini-Games Will Be Available, Too

Los Santos was a party city since it was based on L.A./Hollywood, but Vice City and its surrounding areas look even wilder. The trailer and screenshots show a lot of locations where players can enjoy some nightlife and perhaps even participate in a few mini-games. Some clubs include Jack of Hearts, Nine1Nine, and Delights Cabaret. There’s a big stadium shown in the trailer, including a shot of a Ferris Wheel that would also be fun to explore.

Screenshots and the trailer highlight characters enjoying pool, mini-golf, dirt bike racing, scuba diving, lifting weights, and training at the gym. Some of those sportier activities could mean that the RPG elements from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas are returning in GTA 6, which would be huge. The one thing Grand Theft Auto 6 probably won't take from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, though, is the ability to eat non-stop and get huge like CJ could. It would be funny to see Jason and Lucia pull heists in different forms, though.

2 There Are Tons Of Vehicles To Try Out

Get Around Vice City In Style

Grand Theft Auto was built on one huge mechanic: the ability to steal cars. As the series went on, more vehicles were added, and Grand Theft Auto 6 features a ton in the new media rollout. There is a standard variety of current cars and trucks, both tricked out with bling or hydraulics.

Some Grand Theft Auto games have a harder difficulty than some players might expect. Here's which GTA titles ramp up the challenge.

There are various watercrafts, including airboats, speedboats, yachts, jet skis, and most exciting of all, kayaks. Then, there are helicopters and planes for those who love flight in their open-world games. While not confirmed, there are several shots of Jason jumping from one car to another, which may mean that this is a mechanic rather than just a cutscene opportunity.

1 Players Will Have Access To A Fun Range Of Weapons

Starting A New Life With Force

While not a weapon-heavy trailer, there are a few to point out. Several characters can be seen sporting standard pistols and revolvers. Lucia at one point is holding some kind of SMG, and there are scoped rifles to be seen with some of the hunters in the game.

The in-game Ammu-Nation ad showcases a plethora of shotguns on the wall along with assault rifles and machine guns. The aforementioned gym scene could also mean that hand-to-hand combat could have been improved. Melee combat has never been that intricate in the Grand Theft Auto series, so now would be a good time to change that. Either way, Jason and Lucia should have more than enough firepower to take the world on.
