Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to launch next year, and while there has yet to be an official announcement for an online counterpart, it's been heavily expected. The wait for Grand Theft Auto 6 is finally coming to an end, but with one more year left, there is still room for plenty of reveals from Rockstar.

This month started off rough for gamers eager for GTA 6, as Rockstar announced that the game's release had been pushed back to next year instead of the original fall 2025 target. However, this sad news was quickly transformed into celebration, as a second trailer for GTA 6 followed soon after. The new trailer has proven to be one of the most substantial peeks inside of Vice City that fans have gotten yet, but there is still a big question that remains unanswered: GTA 6 Online. Whenever GTA 6 Online finally launches, making sure that players have the ability to enjoy themselves without stress will be a must.

While Rockstar has yet to confirm it, Grand Theft Auto 6 fans believe they've discovered the actor behind one of the game's most prominent characters.

Rockstar Hopefully Gives GTA 6 Online Players the Option to Be Invulnerable at Launch

GTA 6 Online's Launch is Bound to Be Chaotic

There have been some bold claims this year about what GTA 6's online version has in store. Earlier this year, a report from Digiday suggested that Rockstar is planning to take inspiration from Roblox and Fortnite in order to bring user-generated content to GTA 6. Of course, claims as major as these need to be taken with a grain of salt, but regardless, GTA 6's online version of its world is going to be huge.

GTA 6 Online is set to open the floodgates, and as hordes of players flock to Vice City, there are bound to be plenty of griefers who follow. It's easy to imagine a scenario where GTA 6 Online launches and all hell breaks loose when certain players try to wreak as much havoc as possible, spoiling the experience for those who are just looking to explore. There's no telling what GTA 6 Online has in store, but when the multiplayer option finally arrives, giving players the choice to be invulnerable might be necessary.

While invulnerability may take a lot of the immersion away, it will at least give players a solid chance early on to explore the various areas of the state of Leonida. Beyond Vice City, there's an expansive map that Rockstar has teased, and being able to experience it worry-free could be a huge benefit to players.

GTA 6 comes to the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on May 26, 2026.

Every GTA 6 Location Confirmed, So Far

  • Vice City
  • Leonida Keys
  • Grassrivers
  • Port Gellhorn
  • Ambrosia
  • Mount Kalaga

Each area promises a unique experience for players. While Vice City is Leonida's main city that thrives on excess and hedonism, areas like Mount Kalaga and the Grassrivers are teasing a more rural spot for nature lovers. Everyone deserves to experience GTA 6 in their own way, and sometimes, having the option to just explore the world as one's own custom character without worrying about being attacked or run over by a car is what's preferred.

GTA 6 follows dual protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos as they work to better their lives at any cost.

2025 Hopefully Brings More GTA 6 News

Considering how long it took to get a second GTA 6 trailer, there may not be many more sneak peeks before 2026. Of course, there's always the chance for surprise reveals at big events like The Game Awards, but that remains to be seen. As the year continues, Rockstar will hopefully confirm GTA 6 Online, but until then, there's at least plenty to do in GTA Online and GTA 5.
