Many fans are still waiting with great anticipation for the next wave of revealed details for Grand Theft Auto 6, with its official trailer now having released five months ago. While this first trailer only gave fans a small glimpse at the main setting and characters of the upcoming title, there are still a huge amount of details that can be inferred regarding what kind of experience the project will provide for fans.

The first trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 confirmed the longstanding theories that the game will return to the iconic franchise location of Vice City, with rumors persisting that the game will also feature other locations like Caribbean islands. Of course, the Grand Theft Auto IP is known for its vast range of vehicle options, and the Florida-inspired terrain of Vice City and beyond already seems like a perfect match for off-road vehicles in Grand Theft Auto 6.

Grand Theft Auto 6 Might Take Off-Road Vehicles to the Next Level

Vehicles are one of the most important elements of Grand Theft Auto, with the franchise even being named after the crime of stealing them. Each subsequent entry to the franchise has prided itself on improving the range of vehicle options and customization abilities, with 2013's GTA 5 boasting a huge variety of land, sea, and air vehicles.

By this logic, it is more than likely that the upcoming GTA 6 is going to try its hardest to improve the vehicle diversity of its predecessor, and it would make sense for the game to lean into the terrain of Vice City to achieve this. It is no secret that Vice City is heavily modeled off of Miami and wider parts of Florida, with the trailer for GTA 6 making many references to real-world Florida happenings, so a good inference can be made as to what kind of locations GTA 6 may feature.

The diversity of GTA 6's locations was center stage in its reveal trailer, with the dense urban environments of Vice City being contrasted by the swamps of the bayou. Things like airboats and off-road expeditions are featured in the trailer, with the appearance of a group called the Thrillbilly Mud Club showing how a lot of attention is going to be given to these more rural areas in Grand Theft Auto 6.

The emphasis on off-roading and muddy roads should see more ATVs appear in GTA 6, and the upcoming game could introduce more vehicles like buggies and off-road trucks to capitalize on this. Grand Theft Auto 6 will also need to build upon the vehicle customization mechanics of its predecessor, and tailoring vehicles for off-road use could be a huge part of this.

GTA 6 could place a greater emphasis on tire customization to match certain terrain, perhaps even introducing the option to gut your vehicle for weight reduction and introducing hitches to pull vehicles out of the mud. If Grand Theft Auto 6 is hoping to truly capture the essence of Florida and the full breadth of its recreational activities, then off-roading will surely be a high-octane staple of the upcoming game.
