GOG.com, formerly known as Good Old Games, is a digital game distributor that built its reputation around distributing older games to eager players. However, the site still sells new games as well, resulting in a delightful mix of titles from many gaming eras being featured in its many deals. Now, the spookiest season is drawing to a close, and GOG.com has revealed a Halloween Sale featuring a variety of classic games and one completely free game.

The Halloween Sale includes more than 2,000 new releases, recommendations, and deals on GOG.com from the site's team. Some of these new releases include The Shore, Just Cause 1 and 2, Tormented Souls, Agony, and the free game of this sale, Dagon. They will be available until November 3 at 2 PM UTC, when the sale ends.

Dagon is a short, atmospheric visual novel that adapts the cult H.P. Lovecraft story of the same name. This isn't the first time a video game has incorporated Lovecraft's Dagon story into its narrative, but it may be one of the most evocative. Lovecraft was a deeply flawed and hateful man, but his work remains a fascinating portal into the world of a man who was afraid of just about everything. Dagon is currently available for free, leading the pack of great gaming deals GOG.com has to offer this season.

Discounted titles on GOG.com's Halloween Sale list include Elvira’s Horror Bundle (-10%), Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines (-50%), Mundaun (-30%), Arkham Horror: Mother’s Embrace (-50%), Gamedec (-10%), The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt GOTY (-80%), Diablo + Hellfire (-15%), GRIME (-15%), Phantasmagoria (-35%), and BloodRayne: Terminal Cut (-35%). GOG.com will also be holding Halloween Flash Deals every 48 hours, starting off by giving players the chance to get SOMA at 90% off and Roki at 70% off. Fans of cheap horror games should keep an eye out for the contents of new deals.

Gamers with more specific tastes in horror games are also in luck, as GOG.com is offering more curated looks into the Halloween Sale's titles in the form of several different collections of game recommendations. The site's staff have compiled their favorite horror games into four distinct collections. Also available are three collections based around tone: the Tricks collection features scary titles, the Treats collection draws attention to cute and funny titles, and the Scariest Discounts section highlights the best deals this year's Halloween Sale has to offer. Gamers may want to pounce on these discounts sooner rather than later, as titles have been known to be removed from GOG.com.
