A God of War Ragnarok player has shared an interesting concept to showcase what Odin could have looked like when he was younger. This mockup offers a new look at the All-Father, the ruler of the Norse Pantheon and one of the main antagonists of God of War Ragnarok.

God of War Ragnarok continues the adventures of Kratos and his son Atreus in ancient Scandinavia three years after the events of 2018’s God of War. A harsh winter known as Fimbulwinter is almost over, forecasting that the end of the world, Ragnarok, is about to end all life on Earth. While Kratos and Atreus work on resolving some of their relationship issues, they encounter Thor and Odin, who will become the main antagonists of God of War Ragnarok.

A Reddit user known as JustASharkToothedBoi shared an interesting concept on the official God of War subreddit, showing a younger version of Odin generated by AI. The All-Father wears his iconic eye patch, the same tattoo on the right side of his face, a beard similar to the one he has in the game, and long dark hair. His overall face doesn’t change much, besides fewer wrinkles and less gray hair. Despite JustASharkToothedBoi’s best attempt at hiding the watermark, this mockup of a young version of God of War Ragnarok’s Odin was created by FaceApp, a photo editing application that creates photorealistic images of humans based on existing pictures.

In the comments to this Reddit post, God of War Ragnarok players recognized that this image looked like Odin. The All-Father doesn’t seem to have many fans within the God of War Ragnarok community, as most comments criticized his hairline, chin, and overall look. Some stated they were glad Odin’s kids took after their mother and not the All-Father, while others claimed he didn’t look anywhere as impressive as they expected the ruler of Norse mythology to be. Reddit users then wondered who could play Odin if God of War Ragnarok ever became a TV series or a movie, with some players suggesting Michael Sheen, Radiohead’s singer Thom Yorke, or even YouTuber Jacksepticeye.

Odin is at the core of God of War Ragnarok’s plot, being the main enemy of Kratos and Atreus as they try to thwart his plans. Besides challenging the All-Father, God of War Ragnarok players also need to find Odin’s ravens hidden throughout the nine realms to unlock exclusive rewards to further improve Kratos and Atreus’ efficiency in battle.

God of War Ragnarok is out now for PS4 and PS5.
