Fans of the franchise should enjoy this warm and friendly portrait while they can because God of War Ragnarok may not be so tranquil. Regardless of what the story has entailed for players, this portrait is available for them to appreciate with more digital illustrations featuring the God of War characters on the way.God of War Ragnarok is set to introduce new long-awaited characters, such as Tyr, one of the gods of war, Sköll and HatiSindri, wolves that are important to Norse mythology, and others, but even so, the cast from the first game will also be coming back. Other than Kratos and Atreus, the returning characters include Mimir, a Norse God, Sindri, one of the dwarven merchants and blacksmiths, and his brother Brokk, among many more. Fans of these characters can now enjoy the latest series of art coming from the world of God of War Ragnarok. These new and returning characters are featured in a fun family portrait illustration, which can certainly be considered a calm before the storm, especially given the God of War Ragnarok fan theories of what could happen in the story. This slice of life digital illustration was shared on Twitter by MissRoMayo and is part of their God of War Ragnarok family portrait series. The artist appropriately titled this digital illustration of the characters enjoying a nice meal together “The Heroes of Midgard.” MissRoMayo states that it was done in collaboration with Santa Monica Studio and PlayStation, with more family portraits expected in the near future.
A second Twitter post was made by MissRoMayo that features four photos of the artist working on the digital illustration, showing their process and inspiration on how to tackle the correct way to portray the dynamics of these characters in relation to each other. Between more family portrait series on the horizon and the God of War Ragnarok art director teasing fans for what’s to come, players have much to look forward to.
The collection of art by MissRoMaya is sure to keep fans entertained while they wait for God of War Ragnarok's massive download, which is twice the file size of its previous entry. If the file size is any inclination, God of War Ragnarok is expected to be huge, but hopefully the story has fun character moments, such as the ones portrayed in this digital illustration, to flesh out the relationships more in the epic story that is to come.
