A God of War player discovered a bug that changed Kratos' facial hair and gave him a mustache, making him look more like a dad than ever before. Previously, there was a mod that removed Kratos' beard, but the player swore they were experiencing a glitch.

When 2018's God of War introduced Kratos with a quieter demeanor, many fans found it refreshing to see him be a doting, albeit cold, dad to Atreus. It was a welcome change from the furious and bloodthirsty warrior from previous God of War games. "Dad of War" eventually became a beloved meme in the among fans of the franchise.

While Kratos might seem like a scary dad because of his stern appearance and intimidating size, Reddit user Forsaken-Nothing5772 found a bug that removed his beard and left him with a mustache. They noted that this happened while playing God of War on their MacBook, emphasizing that they weren't using any mod for it and that Kratos' beard simply didn't load properly on their device.

Many players in the comments pointed out that Kratos really looked like a dad with mustached look. There were also many people who said the look made Kratos look like J. Jonah Jameson from Spider-Man and Walter White from Breaking Bad. Meanwhile, others said he looked Russian or Mexican because of his facial hair.

In the past, God of War and God of War Ragnarok players have experienced various glitches, but this mustache bug doesn't seem to be a common one among PC and console players. As Forsaken-Nothing5772 explained in the comments, they used CrossOver to run God of War on their MacBook, which ran smoothly but would cause some glitches in the game. Unless a player was using the same method to play God of War, they might not see this bug for themselves. Nonetheless, mustached Kratos might propel the "Dad of War" memes even further.

God of War has cemented itself as one of the most iconic video game franchises, especially with the release of the highly successful God of War Ragnarok in 2022. With the Norse chapter now finished, many players have been theorizing on the mythologies that God of War will explore next, ranging from Egyptian to Celtic. While Sony Santa Monica hasn't divulged any concrete plans about the next game, God of War fans can still replay the games and even look forward to the Amazon series adaptation.

God of War Ragnarok is available now on PS4 and PS5.
