The God of War's Leviathan Axe has crashed in London, United Kingdom, manifesting in a breathtaking display just next to the London Eye. Sony has been heavily marketing the PlayStation 5 as of late, no doubt thanks to the conclusion of production difficulties and the upcoming release of the PlayStation VR2, and the recent God of War Ragnarok is taking some of the spotlight.2018's God of War sequel saw a new weapon take center stage, with the Blades of Chaos put down for the Leviathan Axe. Replicas of the Leviathan Axe are a common feat for skilled crafters, some of whom have dedicated hundreds of hours to perfecting versions used in cosplay and displays. Now even Sony is producing large-scale sculptures of the weapon for public entertainment.RELATED: God of War Fan Gets Massive Mimir Tattoo The PlayStation UK Twitter account announced "breaking news - A GIANT Leviathan Axe spotted in London," joking that Kratos was "furiously mashing Triangle in Midgard." The retired God of War's weapon will be remaining in place at least for the next day, as a follow-up tweet notes that "if you're considering seeing it in person, experts speculate the axe will be gone by Tuesday evening." The attached images capture the Axe in all of its splendor, an icy mist emanating from the cracked base it rests within. Judging by the detailed Runic symbols and engravings, the piece seems to be a 1:1 replica of the iconic weapon, albeit not when considering its size.

Anyone nearby the London Eye, on the South Bank of the River Thames, should have little trouble finding the Axe surrounded by security tape with the words "live from PS5" imprinted all around it. It is seemingly part of a marketing push that Sony feels comfortable engaging in thanks to the increased availability of the PlayStation 5 console. Furthermore, with the PSVR2 due to release in less than a month, Sony will be keen to drive interest as much as possible, especially as the device will not feature backward compatibility, meaning that games are isolated to the platform without distinct ports.

For those with a PS5, God of War Ragnarok stands as one of the best exclusives in the PlayStation catalog. It took the crown as the highest-rated PlayStation 5 release thus far and boasts a 94% Metascore from critics, matching the score received by its predecessor. For a sequel to maintain such stellar quality is a true testament to Sony Santa Monica and its dedication to the God of War franchise.

God of War Ragnarok is available on PS4 and PS5.
