Achievement and trophy hunters will be pleased to know that Goat Simulator Remastered is doing away with one of the original game's most frustrating achievements. Goat Simulator Remastered was just recently revealed at Gamescom's Opening Night Live with a humorous trailer poking fun at the industry's penchant for re-releasing old games in the form of ports, remasters, and remakes. Reveals for Borderlands 4, Mafia: The Old Country, and Tarsier Studios' new game Reanimal graced the Gamescom stage as well.
A new enhanced version of one of the wackiest games ever made, Goat Simulator Remastered will look to boost the game's visuals, lighting, and textures, just in time for its 10th anniversary. The remastered edition will also serve as the ultimate package for gamers who've never played Goat Simulator, as it'll contain all the original game's DLC maps: Goat MMO, GoatZ, Goat City Bay, Payday, Waste of Space, and Buck to School. True to the game's nature, developer Coffee Stain Studios is leaving in many of the crazy bugs that made the original such a fun hit.
Goat Simulator Remastered is Official
Goat Simulator Remaster is officially happening and will be bringing even more chaos to the wacky goat physics simulator series.
It seems Goat Simulator Remastered's achievement list will see a big change from the original's. According to TrueAchievements, a popular Xbox achievement hunting site, Goat Simulator's "The Flapmaster" achievement has been omitted from the remaster's achievement list. One of the most infuriating achievements in the game, The Flapmaster required players to score 10 points in the brutally difficult "Flappy Goat" minigame which is, of course, inspired by Flappy Bird. While the achievement nets successful players 100 Gamerscore, it's one of the toughest achievements on TrueAchievements, with its page holding the site's record for the highest number of guides, at 53. For even more context, only 9% of Goat Simulator players on TrueAchievements have unlocked the elusive achievement.
Goat Simulator's "The Flapmaster" Achievement Won't Be In Remastered Version
While the doing away of the Flapmaster achievement is surely good news for most fans who are looking to earn all the Xbox achievements in Goat Simulator Remastered, there are surely some hardcore achievement enthusiasts who would've appreciated the challenge. It's unknown whether the Flappy Goat minigame will remain accessible in the remastered version despite the omission of its related achievement. It seems that while Coffee Stain is changing some aspects of the game, such as reworking some of the goat Mutators, the fact that it's keeping many of Goat Simulator's beloved bugs makes it seem like Flappy Goat could survive and make it into the remaster as well.
While Goat Simulator Remastered's trailer ended with a 2024 release window, a specific date wasn't given. If it really is going to be released this year, Coffee Stain will likely reveal the date sometime soon, as there are only a few months left in 2024. Xbox fans will be pleased to know that Goat Simulator Remastered will hit Game Pass on day one; it'll also be released on PlayStation 5 and PC.

Goat Simulator is the latest in goat simulation technology, bringing next-gen goat simulation to YOU. You no longer have to fantasize about being a goat, your dreams have finally come true! WASD to write history.
Gameplay-wise, Goat Simulator is all about causing as much destruction as you possibly can as a goat. It has been compared to an old-school skating game, except instead of being a skater, you're a goat, and instead of doing tricks, you wreck stuff. Destroy things with style, such as doing a backflip while headbutting a bucket through a window, and you'll earn even more points! Or you could just give Steam Workshop a spin and create your own goats, levels, missions, and more! When it comes to goats, not even the sky is the limit, as you can probably just bug through it and crash the game.
