The Best War Games can exclusively reveal that the first major Go-Go Town update is scheduled to roll out on September 15. Called Build and Bustle, this release will expand the Steam version of Go-Go Town with new areas, customization options, and gameplay mechanics, as well as other novelties.
Go-Go Town is a city building and management game with Stardew Valley vibes and split-screen co-op that was released as a Steam Early Access title in June 2024. Its preview version generated positive buzz among some fans of the genre, with Go-Go Town amassing nearly 1,100 "Very Positive" Steam reviews in under three months. Hundreds of people have praised its gameplay variety and wacky tone, relishing the ability to high-five chickens, befriend aliens with bagels, and go on a road rampage, among other silliness.

Not only are these games open-world, but they also come with fun gameplay features that let players manage a small (or larger) community.
Go-Go Town Getting First Major Update on September 15
Go-Go Town's management gameplay loop is about to become even better with the release of its first major update, Build and Bustle, which The Best War Games can exclusively reveal is coming on Sunday, September 15, at 7pm PT / 10pm ET. Much like its name implies, the Build and Bustle update is set to introduce a variety of new features geared toward facilitating lively town expansion. To that end, players will soon be able to use the EGO currency to purchase new land parcels by tracking down Stanley S. Trollson, a "suspicious NPC" who will linger around the borders of these locked zones that will be waiting to be added to one's sprawling town.
Go-Go Town's Build and Bustle Update Includes Industry Zone Customization, Fast Travel, and More
Go-Go Town's city building mechanics will also be expanded with the addition of industry zone customization as part of the upcoming update. Players will hence be given the option to adjust the shape and size of their farming, fishing, mining, and forestry zones, each of which will operate independently. Those wanting to improve their production output will be able to create multiple zones of the same type. The Build and Bustle update will also introduce a fast travel system in the form of a four-line subway, as well as convenient car parks and vehicle racks for storing and recalling rides.

You're the new mayor of Go-Go Town, what are you going to do?
Build | Decorate | Collaborate | Gather | Chill | Terraform | Expand | Manage | Explore
It takes a town…
Build and decorate the town of your dreams. Convert tourists into townies; they will need a home, job and purpose. Impress visitors to unlock new buildings, decorations and tools. Use terraforming to shape the world to your heart’s desire.
Join forces with up to 4 players
Customise your character. Play solo, local split-screen co-op or Remote Play. Take on tricky timed challenges (or just chill fishing). Try to avoid major catastrophes.
Forage, fish, farm, mine and… clean?
Gather materials using a variety of power tools. Refine raw goods into complex materials. Feed your town with locally grown produce; raise bees, cows and crops. Fish in places where fish ought to be (warning: fish not guaranteed).
Clean the city to keep tourists happy (and rejoice when you unlock the bubble gun). High-five the animals.
Get organised and efficient
Balance production, infrastructure, and the increasing demands of your town. Automate your industries by hiring miners, fishermen, lumberjacks and farmers.
Expand your town’s commerce by hiring shopkeepers, artisans, and hot dog sellers. Set up supply chains and couriers to (try to) make sure things run smoothly.
