Sucker Punch reveals patch notes for the latest Ghost of Yotei update, addressing various issues still impacting the overall gameplay experience. So far, Sucker Punch has been quick to update Ghost of Yotei, with patch 1.009 being the third one since the game launched on October 2.

The Meaning Behind Ghost of Yotei’s Ginkgo Tree Has Deeper Roots Than You Think

In just over a week, Ghost of Yotei has already hit an impressive sales milestone, making well over $140 million and breaching 2 million in sales in just 3 days. Although sales appear to be lagging slightly behind its predecessor, Ghost of Tsushima, it appears that Yotei has already recouped its development budget at the very least. Naturally, expectations are now for the game to come to PC, which should also boost profits. For now, Sucker Punch continues to improve the base game's experience through new updates.

PlayStation Trophies Can Now Unlock Exclusive Merchandise

Sony launches a new program called Franchise Rewards, which allows players to purchase exclusive merchandise based on unlocking certain game trophies.

The latest update, known as patch 1.009, is available now for PlayStation 5 players, and focuses on fixing a variety of issues and bugs. Not nearly as large as Ghost of Yotei's Day One Update, this patch should at least help stabilize the game by fixing a potential crash that could happen during the Gambler's Den mission involving bears that start attacking Ronin and their allies. There's also another odd Gambler's Den bug which could result in Atsu being killed randomly for inspecting a jar, which has thankfully been addressed.

The other parts of the update fix a number of bugs, some of which are hilariously strange, such as Atsu's horse continuing to run past her after being called. Ghost of Yotei's Zen-hajiki mini-game also featured an odd bug where a second table would appear, preventing coins from being visible while playing after the player acquired the Dragonfly armor. The rest of the update focuses on a number of mission-specific issues, including one where Atsu would be stuck in a hallucination state, essentially blocking the mission and preventing the game menus from being accessed.

Although the game launches were separated by half a year, many fans continue to compare Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Shadows to Ghost of Yotei, likely due to both games featureing a revenge-inspired story while using Ancient Japan as the backdrop, albeit during very different time periods. In fact, just weeks prior to Ghost of Yotei, Assassin's Creed Shadows expansion, Claws of Awaji, launched, which helped put the game back in the spotlight and likely kicked off more comparison comments.
