Sony and Sucker Punch Productions have given fans something big to celebrate today during the February 12, 2026 State of Play livestream. Ghost of Yotei's highly anticipated Legends multiplayer mode finally has an official release date. The co-op expansion is set to launch March 10, 2026, bringing new ways to team up and tackle supernatural threats for players worldwide.
Originally announced as part of Sony's plans for strong post-launch support for Ghost of Yotei in August 2025, the Legends mode expands the game beyond its single-player roots. Operating as free downloadable content for all owners of the base game, the update transforms the stealth-action adventure into a cooperative multiplayer experience that resembles the beloved Legends mode from its predecessor, Ghost of Tsushima.
Ghost of Yotei Legends Launches on March 10, 2026
Unlike Ghost of Yotei's single-player narrative, Legends throws players battles against demonic interpretations of the Yotei Six, the game's chief antagonists. The mode supports both two-player and four-player cooperative play and introduces a variety of mission types designed to offer diverse challenges and replay value.

At launch, Ghost of Yotei's Legends mode will feature three distinct types of missions. The first is Survival, where up to four players fend off waves of increasingly difficult enemies across four unique maps. These stages play with territory control, where holding specific areas grants players beneficial Blessings, while losing them triggers debilitating Curses that alter combat conditions and force teams to adapt.
Another core offering is the Story mission arc. Here, two players partner to tackle a sequence of 12 narrative-driven missions. Completing sets of three unlocks larger cooperative assaults known as Incursions—sprawling four-player engagements that culminate in boss fights against gargantuan, supernatural versions of the Spider, Oni, Kitsune, and Snake members of the Yotei Six.
Beyond these, an additional Raid experience is slated for April, extending the multiplayer content post-launch with an ultimate confrontation against the Dragon and one of Ghost of Yotei's best characters, Lord Saito. These challenges are likely designed for high-skill teams seeking the toughest encounters that Legends has to offer.
Ghost of Yotei Legends' Four Classes
- SAMURAI — A versatile frontline fighter with access to a wide range of weapon types, including the massive ōdachi.
- ARCHER — Skilled in long-range engagements and capable of wielding the yari (spear), with an additional ranged weapon slot.
- MERCENARY — Focused on agility and utility, dual-wielding katanas and offering abilities that support team dynamics.
- SHINOBI — A stealth-oriented class that uses the kusarigama and a suite of mobility-focused skills to disrupt foes and control the battlefield.
To help tackle these daunting battles, Ghost of Yotei Legends introduces four playable classes: Samurai, Archer, Mercenary, and Shinobi. While all classes can wield both a katana and a ranged weapon, each excels in a distinct combat role that leverages Ghost of Yotei's weapon and combat systems in unique ways.
Each class can earn unique armor cosmetics by completing in-game feats, allowing players to personalize their appearance as they level up. On top of traditional loot progression, Legends also rewards players with Legendary weapons and gear tied to higher-difficulty challenges.
Fan excitement for the next generation of Legends has been building ever since Ghost of Yotei's announcement, especially among players who enjoyed the multiplayer expansion added to Ghost of Tsushima shortly after its launch. That original Legends mode was praised for its cooperative structure and tone, establishing a strong precedent that Sucker Punch now looks to build on with this new iteration. Now, with its March 10 release date finally official, Ghost of Yotei Legends offers both veterans and newcomers a fresh reason to dive back into Ezo's snow-covered landscapes alongside friends, whether to conquer story missions, survive escalating hordes, or tackle the game's most ferocious bosses.
