The story of Ghost of Yotei takes place in a living, breathing world. Although the game lacks changeable seasons like the ones found in Assassin's Creed Shadows, it does have a day-night cycle, which can have a fairly significant impact on the way that certain tasks and side quests go down.

In fact, there are one or two instances where players will only be able to complete a quest at nighttime, which is why learning how to change the time of day in Ghost of Yotei can be important. Thankfully, the process is relatively straightforward, requiring only a couple of button clicks.
How to Change the Time of Day in Ghost of Yotei
To change the time of day, players simply need to go to a campsite and sleep. They can go to an existing campsite to do this or set up a new camp by holding left on the D-pad while in an open section of the map. While sitting at a campsite, selecting the Sleep option will allow them to sleep until morning or sleep until night. Alternatively, they can do things the old-fashioned way and wait around for the time of day to change by itself.
There are certain areas where it is impossible to change the time of day, including the titular Mount Yotei. Fast traveling to one of these areas during the nighttime will automatically revert to daytime.
When to Switch to Nighttime in Ghost of Tsushima
There are a handful of Ghost of Yotei bounties that require players to search an area at night, but these aren't the only times when it's beneficial to change the time of day. For those who enjoy taking the stealthy approach, liberating Yotei 6 camps can be a whole lot easier under the cover of darkness, so it's well worth taking a moment to switch a night before sneaking in. Conversely, exploring the map is arguably a lot easier during the daytime, and a lot more awe-inspiring to boot, so sleeping until morning can also be beneficial at times.
