Summary
- A Ghost of Tsushima sequel should capitalize on a Fortnite crossover for marketing hype.
- Jin Sakai would be an exciting skin in Fortnite, since gunplay would contrast his usual focus on swordfighting.
- Sucker Punch must aim for creative marketing to make Ghost of Tsushima 2's launch bigger than the first game.
The anticipated sequel to Ghost of Tsushima may not have a set release date yet, but once the game eventually gets closer to launch, Sucker Punch should take advantage of a popular marketing opportunity that would work wonders for the sequel. When it comes to Sony exclusives, Ghost of Tsushima is one of the best in recent memory, and a crossover with Fortnite would be an exciting way to get even more hyped for the sequel.
Through the years, Fortnite has become known for its high-profile crossovers that many franchises have embraced in order to market to a wider audience. Whether it's the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or Marvel heroes, Fortnite has managed to get some serious influence through marketing other properties this way. Following the announcement of Ghost of Tsushima coming to PC, the anticipation for the sequel will now be stronger than ever.
Ghost of Tsushima Could Make Its Return In Fortnite
The landscape of marketing has completely changed for games in recent years, and special Fortnite crossovers have become one of the best ways to reach audiences and generate hype for new releases. The collaborations Fortnite has done have been getting bigger and better through the years, and there's no reason why Sucker Punch should pass up such a golden opportunity for the second Ghost of Tsushima.
Jin Would Make A Great Skin In Fortnite
Jin Sakai is one of the most interesting protagonists to come to a PlayStation exclusive in a long time, and he would make a fantastic skin in Fortnite. He has all the components needed to make an exciting skin, and many fans of Ghost of Tsushima in general would love to be able to play as Jin in Fortnite. Since the character is known for his sword skills, it would also be pretty funny to see Jin blasting through other players with a shotgun or assault rifle.
Not only would the character himself make a great skin, but there are other features that could be fantastic items in Fortnite. His sword would make an awesome Pickaxe while a horse could be the Glider that is included in a potential bundle. With the high expectations for Ghost of Tsushima 2, a Fortnite collaboration could be a great way to heighten excitement in an unexpected way, since playing as Jin in Fortnite is something that doesn't seem like the most obvious choice at first.
Generating Hype For Ghost of Tsushima 2's Release
Although excitement for the second Ghost of Tsushima game will be palpable no matter the reveal, Sucker Punch should go big with its marketing in order to make sure as much hype as possible has been drummed up. Launching a Fortnite collaboration in honor of the sequel's first trailer or to count down the last few weeks before launch would make the excitement reach a fever pitch. If Sucker Punch wants to make the launch of Ghost of Tsushima's sequel even bigger than the first game, the studio should look at every possible avenue in order to reach a wider audience, and Fortnite is the perfect route.
There are big hopes for Ghost of Tsushima 2, and Sucker Punch has proven that it's a studio capable of doing amazing things. The game is set to be a success even without a Fortnite crossover, but seeing Jin enter the battle royale would be incredibly fun to witness while also being a great way to ring in the game's launch.
