A recent leak in the Genshin Impact community claims that the next character to receive a premium outfit will be Yelan, the 5-star Hydro Bow user from Liyue. Yelan has had an extended absence in Genshin Impact, not being featured in a single event, story quest, or hangout since Version 3.4. Curiously, Yelan has been featured twice on the Event Banners since her last appearance and continues to be a staple even for newer hypercarries, such as Arlecchino and Navia.
With the Lantern Rite scheduled for Version 5.3, the developers are expected to introduce a minimum of two new skins for certain Genshin Impact characters. Unlike the Summer Event outfits, Lantern Rite skins are usually reserved for Liyue characters, with Xingqiu, Shenhe, and Ganyu being the latest beneficiaries. While Zhongli was long rumored as next in line to receive a premium outfit, it would seem that Yelan will likely take the spotlight in the upcoming Lantern Rite instead.

According to information shared by hxg_diluc, Yelan in Genshin Impact will receive a new outfit in Version 5.3, and it will likely be an exclusive Genesis Crystal purchase. Players can also expect a 4-star character from Liyue to receive the other featured outfit, which will be available for free to all participants of the Lantern Rite. The Genshin Impact community is hoping that Beidou will receive the other outfit in Version 5.3, but Chongyun is also a notable candidate.
Yelan May Be the Next Genshin Impact Character to Receive a Premium Skin
It's important to note that all leaks should be taken with a grain of salt, as data can be easily misinterpreted. Famously, the Zhongli outfit from last year's Lantern Rite was merely artwork tied to a collaboration with the Sanxingdui Museum in China. That being said, given Yelan's popularity, it's probable she will feature during the Flagship Event in Version 5.3. With Zhongli being a part of the Event Banners in Version 5.2, and Yelan having a recent rerun, the premium outfit will likely not play a factor in deciding the Event Banners for the Lantern Rite.
Mavuika and Citlali will feature as the new 5-star characters in Version 5.3, but the other two spots remain unknown. A likely candidate happens to be Xianyun in Genshin Impact, as her Plunge teams have become a popular part of the meta. Alternatively, the developers may finally decide to bring Ganyu and Shenhe back. Despite receiving a premium outfit during last year's Lantern Rite, it has been over 500 days since either character has been featured on the Event Banners.
