Genshin Impact has a great focus on its vast character roster as they are the main source of revenue for this gacha-based action RPG. Developer HoYoverse keeps introducing new characters with each new version of the game.
Genshin Impact's playable roster can be divided into two main groups: five-star and four-star characters. Five-stars are usually significantly stronger, but they are also much harder to acquire and the latest one to be added seems to have been a hit with fans.
After a three-week delay, the game has finally introduced the long-waited Genshin Impact update 2.7 which already brought a brand-new character named Yelan. The new Hydro bow user has quickly become a fan-favorite which has been proven by recent post on the popular Genshin Impact subreddit which revealed that she already broke the record for being the most pulled character on the first day of release. It should be noted that players had three additional weeks to save more Primogems for her arrival.
This is probably the main reason for this record considering that recent Genshin Impact news revealed that Kamisato Ayaka, who was the previous Limited Banner character, also managed to break the overall banner revenue record because her banner duration was extended. Multiple replies in the comment section claim that there is a slight inaccuracy on the chart considering that Yelan is the only character displayed, even though she is joined with the popular Anemo user Xiao on a double banner. For example, the two previous re-runs that featured Ayato/Venti and Raiden Shogun/Kokomi show both characters on the banner revenue chart.
Yelan is a mysterious Genshin Impact characters that works for the Ministry of Civil Affairs. Even though the majority of the community was far from impressed after her initial reveal, Yelan has already proven to be one of the strongest characters in Genshin Impact. Prior to her release, Yelan was considered to be considered a slightly stronger version of the four-star character Xingqui due to the similarities between their kits.
Her unique skills allow her to fill multiple roles within a team composition. While she has the potential to dish out tons of damage, Yelan is probably best fit for the sub-DPS role since. Her elemental burst, Depth-Clarion Dice, has the ability to provide constant Hydro application which is crucial for combining various elemental reactions. Yelan will not be the only new character to arrive in the update as the official livestream event already confirmed a four-star character named Kuki Shinobu for the second banner cycle.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
