Within the Genshin Impact community, Xingqiu is currently one of the most loved characters. So, when news comes that there will be a 5-Star version of him, the fans eagerly wait for her. Even if Yelan ends up being on par with the Guhua Disciple, most people are just glad that they can finally have two Xingqiu for the Spiral Abyss.
Now that Yelan is released in Genshin Impact, players need to equip her with the correct weapon so that she can live up to her title as the 5-Star Xingqiu. To help maximize her potential, here are some of the best weapons for Yelan in Genshin Impact.
Updated March 10, 2023, by Nahda Nabiilah: Almost one year after her initial release, Yelan finally got her first rerun in version 3.4. The rerun was quite exciting as HoYoverse features both Yelan and Hu Tao at the same time. Of course, after months, it's no surprise that there are a lot of new weapons in the game. Among them, there's one particular bow that's excellent for the 5-star Xingqiu. Other than that, this list is also expanded to include other potential weapons for Yelan in Genshin Impact, like the F2P bow, Fading Twilight.
12 Fading Twilight
- Primary Stat: 565 ATK
- Secondary Stat: 30.6% Energy Recharge
- R5 Effect: Has three states, Evengleam, Afterglow, and Dawnblaze, which increase DMG dealt by 12%/20%/28% respectively. When attacks hit opponents, this weapon will switch to the next state. This weapon can change states once every 7s. The character equipping this weapon can still trigger the state switch while not on the field.
Fading Twilight is a weapon obtainable from an event in Genshin Impact 2.7, so players won't be able to get it if they missed the event. This F2P weapon is among the most affordable for Yelan. Although its passive goes up and down, the Energy Recharge sub-stat paired with the damage bonus is sure to make this bow worth using.
11 Viridescent Hunt
- Primary Stat: 510 ATK
- Secondary Stat: 27.6% CRIT Rate
- Effect: Upon hit, Normal and Charged Attacks have a 50% chance to generate a Cyclone, which will continuously attract surrounding opponents, dealing 40% of ATK as DMG to these opponents every 0.5s for 4s. This effect can only occur once every 14s.
Viridescent Hunt is great for its Crit Rate sub-stat. If players are utilizing Yelan's Breakthrough State, they can even benefit from its passive, where a Cyclone will appear, dealing damage and controlling the enemies at the same time.
10 Mouun's Moon
- Primary Stat: 565 ATK
- Secondary Stat: 27.6% ATK
- Effect: For every point of the entire party's combined maximum Energy capacity, the Elemental Burst DMG of the character equipping this weapon is increased by 0.12%. A maximum of 40% increased Elemental Burst DMG can be achieved this way.
Mouun's Moon for Yelan is somewhat conditional, but it can be her best 4-Star weapon in specific cases. This Bow can increase Elemental Burst DMG by up to 40% on Refinement Rank 1 (R1), and up to 80% on maximum refinement (R5). For R5 Mouun's Moon to become Yelan's best 4-Star weapon, players have to ensure they can maximize the Passive by bringing Energy-demanding characters. It’s highly recommended to use this if Genshin Impact Raiden Shogun is present on the team.
9 Recurve Bow
- Primary Stat: 354 ATK
- Secondary Stat: 46.9% HP
- R5 Effect: Defeating an opponent restores 16% HP.
Recurve Bow is a 3-Star weapon in Genshin Impact. It has an extremely low base ATK, but luckily, Yelan doesn't need it. Instead, this weapon enhances Yelan's HP, the main stat she needs for her DMG dealing. This option is great for new players, but for veterans, it's better to stick with the 4-Star options to save resources.
8 Sacrificial Bow
- Primary Stat: 565 ATK
- Secondary Stat: 30.6% Energy Recharge
- Effect: After the user damages an opponent with an Elemental Skill, that skill has a 40% chance to end its own cooldown. This can only occur once every 30 seconds.
Sacrificial is one of the best weapon series in Genshin Impact, so it's no surprise that it's good for Yelan. Generally,
Sacrificial Bow won't perform as well as Favonius Warbow, but it still provides the correct things for her, like Energy Recharge sub-stat and cooldown reset Passive.
7 Elegy for the End
- Primary Stat: 608 ATK
- Secondary Stat: 55.1% Energy Recharge
- Effect: Elemental Mastery increases by 60. Once every 0.2s, when the Elemental Skills or Elemental Bursts of the wielder hit opponents, gain one stack. After having 4 stacks, all of them will be consumed and all nearby party members will obtain a buff for 12s. The buff increases Elemental Mastery by 100 and increases ATK by 20%. Once this effect is triggered, you will not gain stacks for 20s. This effect can be triggered even if said character is not on the field.
Elegy for the End is great since its Energy Recharge sub-stat will help Yelan regain her Burst easily. She can also effortlessly trigger its passive, which grants ATK and Elemental Mastery buff to the entire team. This effect is especially great if players are playing Hu Tao with Yelan.
6 Thundering Pulse
- Primary Stat: 608 ATK
- Secondary Stat: 66.2% CRIT DMG
- Effect: +40% ATK. Gain one stack in each of the following scenarios: Normal Attack deals DMG (stack lasts 5s), casting Elemental Skill (stack lasts 10s); Energy is less than 100% (stack disappears when Energy is full). Each stack's duration is calculated independently. At stack levels 1/2/3, increases Normal Attack DMG by 24/48/80%.
Even though Thundering Pulse is amazing on many Bow characters, it sadly performs below Favonius Warbow for Yelan. The weapon offers ATK and Normal Attack DMG bonuses from its Passive, yet Yelan benefits from neither of them. Because of this, Thundering Pulse is mostly just a stat stick to enhance Yelan’s CRIT DMG.
5 Favonius Warbow
- Primary Stat: 454 ATK
- Secondary Stat: 61.3% Energy Recharge
- Effect: CRIT hits have a 60% chance to generate a few Elemental Particles, which will regenerate 6 Energy for the character. Can only occur once every 12s.
Believe it or not,
Favonius Warbow performs about as well as Skyward Harp and Polar Star for Yelan. It has a really low base ATK, but since Yelan scales with HP, this part is practically irrelevant for her. Considering Yelan's DMG will mostly come from her Elemental Burst, ensuring it's always available should be the top priority. With other Genshin Impact weapons, players may have to use Energy Recharge Artifacts, but with Favonius Warbow, Yelan can fully focus on offensive stats, like HP and CRIT.
4 Skyward Harp
- Primary Stat: 674 ATK
- Secondary Stat: 22.1% CRIT Rate
- Effect: +20% CRIT DMG. Hits made with this bow have a 60% chance to inflict a small AoE attack, dealing 125% Physical ATK damage. This can only occur once every 4 seconds, and won’t proc if the wielder is off-field.
Skyward Harp is easily one of the best Bows in Genshin Impact as it can be beneficial for most Bow characters. For Yelan, she won't benefit much from Skyward Harp's high base ATK, but its CRIT Rate sub-stat and its CRIT DMG Passive still come in handy.
3 Polar Star
- Primary Stat: 608 ATK
- Secondary Stat: 33.1% CRIT Rate
- Effect: +12% Elemental Skill and Burst Damage. After a Normal Attack, Charged Attack, Elemental Skill, or Elemental Burst hits an opponent, the player gains one stack of the weapon's buff for 12 seconds. When 1/2/3/4 stacks are present, ATK is increased by 10/20/30/48%.
Since
Yelan is a Sub-DPS, Polar Star's Passive that enhances Elemental Skill and Burst DMG is perfect for her. However, similar to Thundering Pulse, Yelan won't be able to benefit from the rest of its Passive.
