Summary
- Xilonen in Genshin Impact could shake up the meta with powerful buffs based on teammates' elemental type.
- The second Constellation provides significant bonuses like 50% crit damage for Cryo users, indicating a game-changing support.
- Xilonen's release in Version 5.1 could potentially impact team composition and Geo element dynamics.
Rumors of Xilonen being a universal Support in Genshin Impact might be true after all, as a recent leak reveals the powerful bonus that her second Constellation will bring. While Genshin Impact tends to frown upon power creep, every once in a while, a truly transcendent character makes a debut that completely turns the meta upside down. For Sumeru, this was Alhaitham; for Fontaine, it was Neuvillette. While the jury is still out for Natlan, all signs heavily point towards Xilonen being the one.
Xilonen is expected to launch in Version 5.1 on October 9, 2024. While there is plenty of time for HoYoverse to change her ability kit and numbers, the core concept strongly implies that a lot of Genshin Impact teams will benefit from having her as a teammate. The current understanding is that Xilonen wields elemental jewels as part of her ability kit, and she confers different buffs to other characters based on their color. The color is determined by the elemental type of her teammates, with any Geo, Dendro, or Anemo user leaving the gem in its original state.
Genshin Impact Devs Seem to Have a Brand-New Game in Development
Genshin Impact developer HoYoverse appears to be developing a brand-new game, according to the studio's newly opened job listings.
However, what makes Xilonen so tempting as a Genshin Impact character is that her second Constellation provides an additional attribute bonus to her teammates – once again based on their elemental type. Much like Raiden or Nahida, getting Xilonen to her second Constellation seems to be what opens up her full potential, provided her ability kit survives beta testing in its current iteration. The information was provided via Genshin Leakflow, and shared with the Genshin Impact Leaks community on Reddit.
Genshin Impact Xilonen's Second Constellation Bonuses
Pyro – 40% ATK
Hydro – 40% HP
Cryo – 50% CRIT DMG
Electro – 20% Energy Recharge and 5% Cooldown Reduction
Geo – 30% CRIT RATE
It should be noted that these bonuses are implied to only work per teammate, rather than being teamwide. While this effectively singles out Dendro and Anemo characters in Genshin Impact, it could be argued that those two elements are in a very good spot compared to Geo and especially Cryo. If Xilonen's ability kit wasn't powerful enough, she also provides Elemental Shred, thus establishing herself as an offensive counterpart to Zhongli.
That being said, early leaks should be taken with a grain of salt, but given that other sources have reported similar praise of Xilonen as a character, Genshin Impact players should keep an eye on their Primogem spending. A universal Support like Xilonen could very well redeem the Geo playstyle entirely, as characters such as Navia and Chiori have certainly shown there is potential in an otherwise inert element.
