As time passed, the game’s world was greatly expanded with new areas such as Inazuma, Sumeru, and Fontaine, but the popular RPG never received an Xbox release. At the moment, Genshin Impact is in its 4.8 version, the last one before the new Natlan region is released during 5.0.

Now, HoYoverse has unveiled a new Genshin Impact trailer during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2024, revealing some new images of the eagerly awaited region of Natlan and confirming a release date for Xbox. Xbox Series X/S gamers will be able to play the popular gacha game on November 20, and Genshin Impact is also coming to Xbox Game Pass. Considering that Genshin Impact is a free game, it’s likely that it coming to Game Pass means that fans will gain some kind of special perks if they are subscribers of Microsoft’s service, such as free Primogems or exclusive cosmetic rewards.

Genshin Impact is currently available for PC, mobile, PS4, and PS5, and its Xbox release will certainly impact its reach positively. However, despite having already been confirmed before, a release date for Genshin Impact’s Nintendo Switch port was nowhere to be seen. It’s been a while since Genshin Impact was originally announced for the Switch, and HoYoverse claims to have been working at the port at least since 2022. Due to these constant delays and lack of communication, fans should not hold their breath for Genshin Impact’s Switch port, as it may end up being only available for the yet unreleased Switch 2.
HoYoverse is currently working on Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and the recent Zenless Zone Zero. However, it seems that the studio may be working on a yet unannounced project, too. New job listings indicate that HoYoverse is developing a new game, as the company is looking for people with experience modeling realistic 3D models and using Unreal Engine 5. While it’s unclear what this new game could be, it seems to be early in its production phase, so it’s unlikely that it will be announced anytime soon, especially with so many updates coming out for HoYoverse’s other games soon.
