Wriothesley is another Genshin Impact character that relies on his Normal Attack to deal damage, and although he uses Catalyst as his equipment, he deals melee damage via his punches. Like most Fontaine characters in Genshin Impact, his mechanic involves losing a certain amount of HP as he fights while also having a way to regen his own health.
This enables several pieces of equipment to be viable for Wriothesley, so here’s a summary of Wriothesley's best build in Genshin Impact, which includes feasible weapons and artifact sets.

Wriothesley Best Artifact In Genshin Impact
Wriothesley loses his HP constantly, so he’s a great user for 4pc Marechaussee Hunter. 4pc Blizzard Strayer is also an excellent choice if players are playing him in a Freeze team. Under the perfect circumstances, Blizzard Strayer is about 5% better than Marechaussee, but each set has its own pros and cons, such as:
- Blizzard grants a 15% boost to all his Cryo hits, while Marechaussee only gives the bonus to Normal and Charged Attack.
- Wriothesley may Shatter some Frozen enemies, so sufficient enablers are required to maintain the debuff.
- People must build Marechaussee’s stack, and it only goes up to a 36% Crit Rate bonus. Meanwhile, Blizzard doesn’t need building up (although players still need to Freeze the enemies) and grants up to a 40% Crit Rate.
- Most bosses can’t be Frozen, so Marechaussee may be better against bosses.
- Blizzard is only viable in a Freeze team while Marechaussee is more flexible.
Wriothesley Best Weapon In Genshin Impact
Cashflow Supervision is Wriothesley’s best-in-slot weapon in Genshin Impact, but there are other viable options as well. The second-best Catalyst is Scaramouche’s signature weapon, Tulaytullah's Remembrance, followed by several other 5-stars like Skyward Atlas, Memory of Dust, and Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds.
Skyward Atlas and Memory of Dust can perform worse than Lost Prayer if there’s an ATK buffer like Bennett, but Lost Prayer can also be wasted if players go above 100% Crit Rate.
As for 4-star weapons in Genshin Impact, Wriothesley can use Ballad of the Boundless Blue, Eye of Perception, Frostbearer, Blackcliff Agate, Flowing Purity, The Widsith, and Solar Pearl. Ballad of the Boundless Blue and Flowing Purity are the easiest to use as they’re not situational, while the other options have limitations.
Eye of Perception and Frostbearer are both excellent against a horde of enemies and can even outperform Tulaytullah at R5 if there are enough foes on the field. However, they’re both underwhelming against single targets. Blackcliff Agate also requires people to fight against several enemies as that’s the only way to stack ATK buff from its passive.
The Widsith and Solar Pearl are usually excellent, but sadly, Wriothesley doesn’t benefit greatly from Elemental Mastery, so Widsith’s performance is highly RNG. Meanwhile, Solar Pearl is great as it enhances Normal Attack, but this boost can only be obtained if the wielder deals Elemental Skill or Burst DMG. Since Wriothesley's Skill doesn’t deal damage, the Normal Attack DMG bonus can only be triggered by his Burst, which takes a while to recast.
