How to Play as Hunter in Windtrace: Seekers and Strategy
Whenever you play as the Hunter in the Windtrace event, found alongside the new Iridiescent Arataki Rockin' for Life Tour de Force of Awesomeness event, you will be the one who is seeking out the other players. There is only one Hunter, and they will have increased Movement SPD, decreased Stamina consumption, and use Windward Arts to seek out the other players. Rebels will now be required to repair a Signaling Device during the competition, which can make it easier for the Hunter to track them down. With this in mind, here are a few tips to use to win as the Hunter.
- You can either capture all Rebels, or prevent the Rebels from repairing all four Signaling Devices to win as the Hunter. If you're not great at specifically tracking down players, then preventing them from fixing the Signaling Devices is a great addition for you in this new version of Windtrace.
- You will have a total of three Windward Arts that you can use as the Hunter. There are many to choose from, but the best ones that we recommend are: Unseen Pursuit, Capture!, and Shadecatcher Beacon. Capture is a required Windward Art, but the other two are some of the best due to the fact that they will allow you to keep track of the areas in between Signaling Devices, increase your Movement SPD and lower the Capture cooldown, and conceal your own position to catch Rebels off guard. This will allow you to sneak up on Rebels and capture them without them being able to retaliate and run away.
- You'll want to make sure you are paying close attention to Signaling Devices. This is why the Shadecatcher Beacon ability is one of the best to have, since you won't have much issue keeping track of all the Signaling Devices with this on-hand. Preventing the Signaling Devices from being repaired will be a much easier strategy to take than capturing all the Rebels, especially with Shadecatcher Beacon. If you stick around to the Signaling Devices, the Rebels won't be able to approach them, and you'll be able to make the time run out.
- Make sure to utilize any elevated locations to keep track of where any Rebels might be located, or even where a Signaling Device can be found.
- Remember to use your Favors at the right time rather than just use them immediately after obtaining them. If you are using Unseen Pursuit, this can be great to use early-on, so you can capture Rebels quickly and throw them off.

How to Play as Rebel in Windtrace: Seekers and Strategy
On the other side of the Windtrace event, we have the Rebels. These will be the players that avoid being captured by the Hunter, while also repairing a total of four Signaling Devices. While it used to be easier to be a Rebel in previous iterations of Windtrace, it is now a bit more difficult to be successful. They also have a lot fewer Windward Arts that they can utilize to avoid capture. Here are some tips and tricks to play as a Rebel, so you can win the event and get some rewards.
- Just like the Hunter, you will be able to have three Windward Arts. We recommend using Starstep, Disguise, and Transparency. Starstep and Disguise are required, but Transparency you can choose over Concealing Beacon. We prefer this one since it allows you to become completely invisible for a short period of time and move to a new location without being detected.
- When attempting to conceal yourself from the Hunter, you'll want to be wise about where you hide and what you change into. For example, if you want to change into a barrel, you won't want to be in a random field of grass. Make sure to place yourself next to other barrels, or in an area where barrels might appear, such as next to a restaurant. We also recommend using smaller disguises to be less detectable.
- We also recommend hiding in small corners that might be initially undetectable to the Hunter. Hiding out in the open can be a great option, but finding a well-hidden corner can be useful as well.
- As you attempt to repair the Signaling Devices, you'll want to make sure that you are moving around as frequently as possible. Staying in the same spot for too long will make it much easier for the Hunter to pinpoint your location and get to you in time to capture you. Make sure to frequently move around and change disguises. Though it might be harder to win like the Rebels, it's worth it to put in effort and get yourself some Primogems and Mora.
