To trigger the Waiting For Seeds to Sprout quest in Genshin Impact, head to the patch of land near Natlan Weapon Material Domain. Simply teleport there, then climb up the domain and get to the area behind it. Open your map to reach the southeast patch of land, and approach the area until your Saurian companion reacts to the location.
Approach the three digging holes and wait until your Saurian finishes digging. Don't forget to investigate the dug spots.
The quest Waiting For Seeds to Sprout won't proceed until you approach the hole that's not yet dug.
After all three spots are dug, Travelers will eventually come across a fire-like seed. Seeing that, the trio decides to plant it. Here are the steps you have to complete to conclude the Waiting For Seeds to Sprout quest in Genshin Impact:
- Plant the seed
- Infuse the seed with Phlogiston
- Defeat the attracted creatures
- Re-infuse the seed with Phlogiston
- Defeat the attracted enemies
To infuse the seed with Phlogiston in Genshin Impact, you must first ensure you have enough red bar above your HP. If you don't have sufficient Phlogiston, you can activate the 
Everflame Seed nearby (a circular stone with red glow inside) and stand next to it until it fills your Phlogiston bar.
Afterward, beat the bugs that appear using any attack, preferably AoE ones. Eventually, you'll end up having to fight one Eroding Avatar of Lava and two Pyro Slime in Genshin Impact.
