According to a reliable source in the Genshin Impact community, Mare Jivari will be released as a separate map in Version 5.8. With no Summer Event in sight, the Natlan era is expected to break one of the oldest traditions of Genshin Impact. Every year since the game's launch, Genshin Impact has taken players on a summer adventure, often tied to the Hexenzirkel in some way. This detour was a vacation of sorts, a final stop before entering the new region.
Due to the way content updates were rescheduled in Natlan, there is a high possibility that Genshin Impact will skip its Summer Event for the very first time. Genshin Impact will have no map expansion in Version 5.7, and players will need to wait until Version 5.8 to complete their Natlan exploration. Given that the game has never released a new zone on top of the Summer Event, Mare Jivari should be considered the sole map of Version 5.8 until proven otherwise.
Genshin Impact Leak Reveals Banner Characters for Version 5.7
Thanks to a recent leak, Genshin Impact players can take an early look at the Event Banners for Version 5.7, as the patch features important reruns.
That being said, Uncle Teyvat recently revealed that Mare Jivari will be a separate map in Genshin Impact – a quality normally reserved for Summer Event maps and underground areas (such as Enkanomiya, Remuria, and the Chasm). Teased since Version 1.0, Mare Jivari in Genshin Impact is an island that lies at the westernmost point of Teyvat, and has been described as a place where the wind does not blow. It has appeared and disappeared many times throughout the history of Natlan, and some of its lore even hints that Mare Jivari exists beyond the realm of time.
Genshin Impact: What to Expect from Mare Jivari in Version 5.8?
In place of a Summer Event in Genshin Impact, Mare Jivari may potentially give players a continuation to one of its most beloved side stories. Enkanomiya remains a memorable experience not just for the visual spectacle of the zone itself, but also due to Enjou, a self-described "lowly clerk" of the Abyss Order. Enjou made an appearance in Natlan during Kinich's Tribal Chronicle, and expressed an interest in getting to Mare Jivari during Version 5.2. If the Traveler and Paimon make their way to Mare Jivari in Version 5.8, players are bound to run into their favorite Abyss Lector once again.
Another positive to Mare Jivari over a Summer Event is the permanence of the content. By Version 6.0, Mare Jivari will likely remain a zone that players can explore, as it will still be required to complete the Tablet of Tona in Natlan. Version 6.0 will take players to Nod-Krai in Genshin Impact, an autonomous province that rests on the southern borders of Snezhnaya. Though the new region will only launch in September, players can expect to see Version 5.8 on July 30.
