Genshin Impact Confirms Banner Characters for Version 5.7

Genshin Impact has officially revealed which 5-star playable units will be available on the Limited Character Banner in the upcoming Version 5.7. Genshin Impact updates are always divided into two phases, with each containing a double banner that includes two 5-star and three 4-star characters. Since the release of Natlan, every update has included at least one new 5-star character, with Escoffier being the most recent addition.

Genshin Impact previously revealed that the next update will feature one of the most anticipated characters in the community, the mysterious Cryo user Skirk. The fact that she’s the only new 5-star character means that HoYoverse will feature three re-run characters, and the company’s most recent announcements have finally revealed their identities.

Approximately two weeks before each update arrives, Genshin Impact hosts a livestream event that reveals most of the upcoming content, including new characters, weapons, regions, reruns, and more. The Special Program Event for Genshin Impact Version 5.7 was recently held, and HoYoverse revealed that apart from Skirk, players will also be able to pull for Shenhe, Mavuika, and Emilie on the Limited Character Banner. Many fans agree that this will be one of the most stacked updates when it comes to featured 5-stars, as it includes both the long-awaited Skirk and the first re-run for the Pyro Archon, Mavuika. Regarding Skirk’s strength on the field, her kit demonstration confirmed that she will be a new DPS character who relies on a team composition featuring Hydro and Cryo characters. This is probably one of the reasons she has been placed on the same banner as Genshin Impact's Shenhe, who is known for her supportive abilities, especially toward Cryo characters.

Even though Shenhe might prove to be a strong support option, players suspect that Skirk’s must-have support will likely be the famous chef Escoffier, who was featured in the first part of the ongoing Genshin Impact Version 5.6. Some players even pointed out that rumors about Escoffier being the best support for Skirk were the only reason they pulled for Fontaine.

While Skirk is probably the most popular character, alongside Mavuika, released during the Natlan arc, many players still seem divided about her strength on the field. Many feel that she is a bit too niche and cannot fulfill her damage potential in team compositions that don’t include Genshin Impact's Cryo and Hydro characters.

Skirk won’t be the only new character released in this update, as HoYoverse has also confirmed the arrival of another 5-star character named Dahlia, who already appeared in the main storyline. As for the update’s official release date, players can expect Genshin Impact Version 5.7 to drop around June 18.
