Genshin Impact has officially revealed the newest five-star character set to join the RPG during the game's Version 4.5 update, the Inazuma seamstress Chiori. With the debut of the Version 4.4 update on the horizon, the massively popular RPG from HoYoverse has plenty of new characters set to release soon. Version 4.4 will introduce a pair of new characters to the game, with the long-awaited release of Xianyun as the update's lone five-star character and Gaming as a new four-star unit. Now, the following update will debut a character HoYoverse has already teased in-game.
The main event for Version 4.3, dubbed "Roses and Muskets," introduced players to a character who had long been rumored for Genshin Impact in Chiori. Chiori is shown as the head of the Chioriya Boutique in Inazuma, traveling to Fontaine to help recurring NPC Xavier with his newest film. While Version 4.3 saw the first in-game appearance of Chiori within Genshin Impact, she has been the subject of several rumors teasing her as a new Geo character planned to join the game's roster. Now, HoYoverse has officially revealed Chiori's upcoming debut within the RPG.
The newest in Genshin Impact's "drip marketing" posts has officially revealed Chiori as the game's newest upcoming five-star character. The post gives a brief introduction to Chiori, giving her title as the "Thundering Seamstress" and introducing her as the Chioriya Boutique's "boss." The official reveal from HoYoverse also confirms previous rumors about Chiori's element, becoming the Fontaine cycle's second addition to the game's Geo element. Version 4.5 and Chiori are expected to launch on March 13.
Genshin Impact Confirms Chiori for Version 4.5
While the official post from HoYoverse did not reveal any details about Chiori's gameplay, leaks have heavily hinted at how the seamstress will play within Genshin Impact. Chiori is expected to be a sub-DPS unit within Genshin Impact teams, utilizing Geo puppets to deal off-field damage. Chiori's puppets will notably not be considered a Geo construct by the game, with her Elemental Burst also expected to deal high up-front burst damage. She is expected to work well with other characters capable of creating Geo constructs, like Zhongli and Geo Traveler.
Chiori's debut in Version 4.5 will mark the second character added to Genshin Impact's under-represented Geo element during the Fontaine cycle. Navia's release during Version 4.3 marked the first time the RPG had welcomed a new Geo character to its roster in nearly two years, following Yun Jin's launch in January 2022. The Geo element has also been the subject of many complaints from Genshin Impact fans, feeling that Genshin Impact's Geo element needs an overhaul. Chiori and Navia's launches will look to boost one of Genshin Impact's most under-utilized elements.
