Ahes is one of the many Melusines available in Genshin Impact Fontaine. Her quest involves the long-lost ship, the Sponsian, which players can somehow see after consuming Verenata’s questionable potion. Of course, apart from 
Primogems, the Melusine will also give one Genshin Impact Strange Part for players’ trouble, so those who are trying to clear Xana’s shop should consider sparing some time to understand the fate of the ship.
Unsurprisingly, the demise of the ship has something to do with Elynas, the father of the Melusines who’s also known as a monster of Fontaine. His remain is the place where Melusines now resides, and in a certain quest, players can even meet with Elynas, although in the adorable Melusine form. In a lore drop from an Enigmatic Page in Genshin Impact, it’s also alluded that Elynas is of the same blood as Durin, which means the creature is another one of Gold’s creations.
While scouring the sea for clues of the Sponsian, Genshin Impact players will eventually come across a task to use the conch to send the correct signal in The Lone Phantom Sail quest, and here’s how it can be done correctly.
How To Use The Conch To Send The Correct Signal In Genshin Impact
Before using the conch to send the correct signal in Genshin Impact The Lonely Phantom Sail quest, players get to pick one of the three types of signal, which goes:
- Short: Long, short, then long
- Middle: Long five times
- Long: Short then long, repeat five times
All the notes are low, so players can ignore the “low” part of the instruction.
To send a short note, simply press the Blubberbeast skill next to the conch. For the long note, hold the skill and hit the conch with it. Repeat the correct steps according to the signal players choose previously. For reference, there are three notes to play for short, five for middle, and ten for long.
Speak to Ahes again, and she will repeat the signal players need to send. Alternatively, telling Ahes that the task is hard will cause her to do it for the players, instantly completing the work.

To start this mission, players must first experience Verenata’s “Hey, this isn’t Pumpkin Soup…” Quest, then find Ahes in the “A Lonely Place”. Speak to her, and she’ll mention how the Traveler has seen the ship, which is the Sponsian. In The Lone Phantom Sail, players will be following the white sail of the ghost ship to figure out where it ends up after being lost.
Apparently, the Sponsian eventually got stranded on the shore and became wrecked to pieces. Ahes is disappointed upon seeing this ending, but she’s determined to properly reconstruct the events that led to this demise.
