Even though Genshin Impact's recently introduced Archon has now arrived in the game, players are already asking for a new outfit for the character, inspired by the recent story teaser. While Genshin Impact updates often revolve around the playable roster, HoYoverse does not introduce too many alternative cosmetics.
Genshin Impact usually releases new skins twice a year, around their two annual events: the Lantern Rite Festival and the Summer event. With the Lantern Rite Festival just around the corner, HoYoverse has confirmed two new outfits for popular Liyue characters. While there is a lot of excitement surrounding these skins, players still want to see the first Archon skin added to the game.
Genshin Impact's Mavuika was first introduced during Natlan's first update, but she has yet to officially join the roster. The recently held Special Program event confirmed that she will be featured in the upcoming Genshin Impact Version 5.3, alongside Citlali. Genshin Impact has also released a new promotional animated short titled "Sunset," which features the Pyro Archon Mavuika as the main character. In some of the scenes, Mavuika is seen wearing a traditional Natlan outfit that, according to multiple comments, looks even better than her original one. In fact, despite the teaser being revealed only a couple of hours ago, numerous posts on Genshin Impact's official subreddit have been asking HoYoverse to add Mavuika's traditional costume to the game.
Genshin Impact Fans Want New Mavuika Skin
Many fans claim that while Mavuika's current look fits the whole motorcycle vibe, the traditional outfit seems much more elegant and more suitable for a Genshin Impact Archon. Another big difference is that Mavuika's traditional outfit includes large golden earrings, a necklace, and a headband that matches the rest of her ensemble. Genshin Impact players have also started theorizing that, if Mavuika were to receive a similar update in the future, HoYoverse would also need to redesign her motorcycle to match the new designs.
Unfortunately for many players, it's highly unlikely that Mavuika will get this skin in the foreseeable future, as many highly requested characters have not received a new cosmetic. The prime example of this is the Geo Archon Zhongli, who also wore a different outfit in one of Genshin Impact's teaser videos.
Despite receiving a lot of requests at the time, HoYoverse never responded, and players are still waiting for an Archon skin. As for Mavuika's official release date, she has been confirmed to arrive on the first banner cycle of Genshin Impact Version 5.3. According to the game's usual update schedule, the new update should drop around January 1.
