Summary
- Collecting Crystal Cores in Genshin Impact can be time-consuming, but it is necessary for creating Condensed Resin.
- The game offers various locations to collect Crystal Cores, ranging from easy to more challenging.
- Players should use specific teleport waypoints and have Sayu in their party to maximize the ease of Crystal Core collection.
Collecting Crystal Cores can be a time-consuming chore for players who frequently create
Condensed Resin in Genshin Impact. Despite this, the alternative of not making Condensed Resin would worsen the daily resin grind, so there isn't much in terms of an alternative. Fortunately, once players know where to look, collecting Crystal Cores doesn't need to be as much of a chore.
The following list will cover the top locations to collect Crystal Cores, with each offering a decent number of them for very minimal effort on the player's part. The list will begin with the absolute easiest and lowest effort and will end with the ones that have larger rewards but a bit more effort involved. It is recommended for players to place 4* Anemo unit Sayu in the party if possible, as she has a passive that will make it so Crystalflies are not scared off in her presence.
The Crystalfly Trap
With the release of the Fontaine region, Genshin Impact has also added another means of gathering Crystal Cores called the '
Crystalfly Trap.' This gear item will yield 15 crystal cores in exchange for 30 ore of the player's choice. However, this exchange takes an entire week to pay out and as such is limited to once per week, meaning it won't single-handedly solve player's Crystal Core worries.
This gadget can be obtained by reaching Reputation Level 3 in Fontaine.
9 The Dendro Hypostasis Arena, Sumeru
In Genshin Impact's version 3.2 update, the Dendro Hypostasis boss enemy was added to the game. To reach this enemy, players must use the teleport waypoint South of Aaru Village and head into a nearby cave. However, for players who are seeking Crystal Cores, this teleport waypoint also offers three cores up-for-grabs with minimal effort.
In order to grab the three Crystal Cores here, players should begin by heading to the previously mentioned teleport furthest south of Aaru Village in Sumeru. Immediately behind the direction that the player will teleport facing is a rock, and flying above it will be three Dendro Crystalflies. Sprinting through the Crystalflies while spam-clicking the grab button should easily net the player all three Crystal Cores at this location.
8 Land of Lower Setekh, Sumeru
Once players have grabbed the Crystal Cores up-for-grabs next to the Dendro Hypostasis, the next easy batch is very close by. Players should look at the map and head to the teleport waypoint directly to the west of the previous teleport waypoint. This waypoint isn't located near any notable locations, so the easiest way to remember it is simply by its relation to the previous one.
Immediately upon teleporting to the waypoint, players should see the three Crystalflies almost within grabbing distance. It is important to note that if
Sayu is not in the party, these three will immediately flee upon teleporting, so being fast is essential for this batch. Just like the previous batch, simply running while spamming the grab button should be enough to grab all three.
7 Thalatta Submarine Canyon, Fontaine
Genshin Impact's Fontaine addition has released a bunch of new easy locations for Crystal Core collecting, and the Thalatta Submarine Canyon is the easiest and most rewarding of the bunch. This spot is northeast of the Courth of Fontaine, located directly in the middle of the water at the top of the Genshin Impact 4.0 map.
Upon reaching the teleport waypoint in the middle of Thalatta Submarine Canyon, players should look down and to their immediate right. Players will immediately see the six Hydro Crystalflies that are swimming around a small cave and can quickly swim toward them while spamming the grab key. Once the Crystalflies have been collected, this cave also hosts a large amount of Condessence Crystals to collect, as well as the power required to collect them.
6 Pale Forgotten Glory Domain, Fontaine
Directly across the water south of Fontaine's main city is the local talent book domain, Pale Forgotten Glory. Players who have built any characters added since the 4.0 update are likely already well acquainted with this domain. Teleporting to this domain and looking around will reveal three Hydro Crystalflies that swim around the domain entrance, easily grabbed by spam clicking while swimming towards them.
5 "A Lonely Place" in Fontaine
In the Beryl Region of Fontaine, players will find an underground civilization that belongs to a local Fontaine species: the Melusine. This spot is unlocked as part of the overarching world quest of Fontaine, but access to it opens up quite quickly. The teleport that specifically will be beneficial in the Crystal Core collection grind is the one that leads to Merusea Village.
In order to begin the Crystal Core hunt here, players should teleport to the Merusea Village teleport waypoint and immediately turn around. Behind the teleport waypoint is a circular purple portal and interacting with it will bring players to "A Lonely Place." Once players are in the lonely place, there should be various yellow plants that can be interacted with, and doing so can drop various goodies.
From testing, the various things that can drop from these plants include Crystalflies, low-rarity artifacts, and
Mora. Despite this, the Crystalfly drop is one of the most consistent, and searching this area should generally yield six or more Crystal Cores.
4 Windrise, Mondstadt
The Statue of the Seven located at Windrise is one of the very first Statues of the Seven that players will ever interact with in Genshin Impact. This tree is important to Mondstadt lore and the main story of the game brings players here relatively frequently.
Fortunately, there are about six Anemo Crystalflies that circle this tree, though they are occasionally harder to grab due to their varying heights.
3 Domain of Guyun, Liyue
Directly off the coast of Liyue Harbor is the Guyun Stone Forest, a collection of islands and the location of Captain Beidou's ship. Located here is the Domain of Guyun, which is the artifact domain that yields the "Archaic Petra" and "Retracing Bolide" sets.
Upon teleporting to this domain, there are four Geo Crystalflies circling the general area, and jumping off the nearby ledge will lead to another two. These Crystal Cores can be somewhat more difficult to get due to the varying heights involved, and having Sayu in your party is almost a must to successfully collect all of these.
2 Mt. Tianheng, Liyue
Directly to the West of Liyue Harbor are two mountainous peaks known as Mt. Tianheng. This area is a very good location for collecting weapon ore, but it is also home to a group of six Geo Crystalflies hiding out in a nearby cave.
Players seeking out these Crystalflies should head to the Mt. Tianheng teleport and locate the Hilichurl group to the right, making note of the cave entrance slightly above them. Players can opt to fight these Hilichurls or run past them, though they will continue to attack the player while collecting the Crystalflies inside the cave.
1 Dawn Winery, Mondstadt
The final location players should seek for Crystal Core grinds is Dawn Winery, as well as the Statue of Seven next to it on the map. This teleport location immediately hosts three Anemo Crystalfies, but the real area of interest is Dawn Winery itself. Located throughout the various grape fields of Dawn Winery are tons of Crystalflies, and running around the entirety of the building alone will net six. There are some located on the roof of the Winery and around the nearby buildings.
All-in-all, this is the most time-consuming location on this list, but it also yields the largest number of Crystal Cores, over 10 in total. For the most gain, players should grab the ones near the Statue of the Seven and then run through the fields of Dawn Winery, collecting the easy-to-grab six that will be there.
