Thoma was the first Genshin Impact character to meet the traveler in Inazuma. He introduced the Traveler and Paimon to the region and helped them to settle as they were consuming in the nation of eternity.
In other words, Thoma was a Support in Genshin Impact’s story as he is in the gameplay. However, the Housekeeper isn't very adept at his job at C0. Luckily, some of Thoma's Constellations in Genshin Impact change this for good.
Are Thoma’s Constellations Worth It In Genshin Impact?
Without Constellations, Thoma suffers from many limitations and long downtimes. He can’t maintain shields or add a decent buff and is pretty much useless. On the other hand, once Thoma reaches his C2, he starts becoming more viable as a shielder or as a Support in Genshin Impact. With every subsequent constellation, Thoma performs better and better. With this in mind, Thoma’s Constellations are definitely worth it.
C1 - A Comrade's Duty
- Effect: When a character protected by Thoma's own Blazing Barrier (Thoma excluded) is attacked, Thoma's own Blazing Blessing CD is decreased by 3s, while his own Crimson Ooyoroi's CD is decreased by 3s. This effect can be triggered once every 20s.
- Importance: High
Getting attacked is pretty much what is going to happen in every serious combat condition, especially in Genshin Impact's Spiral Abyss. As a result, C1 Thoma’s passive effect is always going to tick three seconds less on his Elemental Burst, which will help cast it more often.
C2 - A Subordinate's Skills
- Effect: Crimson Ooyoroi's duration is increased by 3s.
- Importance: Priority
Here’s where things get interesting. Alongside his first Constellation’s effect, C2 Thoma’s passive will give his Elemental burst 100% uptime. This allows Thoma to maintain his Shield and Pyro application throughout the entire fight.
For players that don’t want to spend much to get Thoma’s Constellations, his second Constellation is the perfect place to stop, since it makes him a decent Support. The other Genshin Impact Constellations are important but nowhere near as much as his C2.
C4 - Long-Term Planning
- Effect: After using Crimson Ooyoroi, 15 Energy will be restored to Thoma.
- Importance: High
Long-Term Planning is another buff to Thoma’s Elemental Burst that cost 80 Energy to cast. Certainly, it’s a high demanding Burst. Still, Thoma's fourth Constellation passive in Genshin Impact will regenerate 15 Energy immediately, which will make it easier for him to get his Burst back and use it more regularly.
C6 - Burning Heart
- Effect: When a Blazing Barrier is obtained or refreshed, the DMG dealt by all party members' Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks is increased by 15% for 6s.
- Importance: High
C6 Thoma’s passive effect increases the damage of units shielded by his Burst. That effect gives C6 Thoma the ability to buff his Genshin Impact teammates on top of his Pyro Resonance buff.
Genshin Impact is available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is currently in development.
